. A running back from Notre Dame by the name of GRAY!!!!?? Wow did he eat up INDY last night! ( thank you, thank you, thank you my Irish lads!!)
Jonas had a great Sr. Season at ND, till he was injured he was on his way to being a 1st day draft choice. That he was able to fight through the rehab, and no doubt the discouraging time of being cut, on practice sqauds, etc to finally get a chance is a story in itself. Good for him. Can't root for the Pat's but I do root for Gray. I hope he stays healthy and has a great year.
Jonas is a great story, he was recruited by Weis and was a highly prized recruit. But he didn't really get going, he was a big back who liked to run more like a small back he didn't stick it up in side and use his power and never started. In fact even as a Sr. he started the year as a backup but had finally made the commitment to be a power back and he eventually beat out the guy who was the starter (Cierre Wood). And he showed amazing power and speed, as I said in the previous post he was having a great senior year finally reaching his potential. Then a hit in the Pitt game, a Pitt DB went low and targeted his knee, ruined his season. It was a legal hit but to me it was a dirty hit. Everybody felt awful for Jonas, he'd worked so hard and was finally the player he should bave been and bam...gone in a second. That's he's fought back from that is a great indicator of his character. Good luck to him.
I hope he remains healthy 200 yds last nite. Could be the final piece in this years rebuilding. ( only Bill can build and rebuild in mid season)
Bill doesn't fool around..thats why he signed BLOUNT yesterday...don't be surprised if Gray sits tomorrow!
