I guess by now everybody has heard about Justin Brent and porn star Lisa Ann? She had posted their picture on Instagram, they were at the Knicks game in NYC. Kim Dunbar anybody? Next photo that was put up was them in bed, somewhere. Covers were up so no nudity. But hardly the image that I would think that Kelly, Swarbrick and Fr. Jenkins want for ND football players. She is 42!!! What a 19 y/o kid would see in a 42 y/o porn star is beyond me. She also has some history with Ohio State TE, Jeff Heuerman, but no post of pictures of them in bed.

Naturally lots of discussion of the rules in DuLac the ND student handbook/code of conduct. Which of course prohibits sex outside of marriage. I'm sure ND Admin is not silly enough to think that the rules is adhered to by the students, sure some and I doubt if ND is a Sodom and Gamorah of hook ups. But still I would think this constitutes rubbing the noses of the Admin in his escapdes. It's sort of a no win situation for the Irish.

If Kelly or somebody steps in and punishes Brent in any way shape or form it will be used against us in recruiting. "See, if you go to Notre Dame you can't sleep with women even if you aren't Catholic." Come to our school and what you do on your own time is your private business as long at it's legal. They already chip at us with our rules about girls in your dorm/room and also that we make athletes live in the dorms for a couple of years, I think they can move out as Jr's if their grades are ok. But we've got a lot of rules that don't exist anymore in most colleges, BYU maybe has more though.

I have to assume that Brent's parents are so proud that their son is apparently sleeping with a porn star, no doubt can't wait for him to bring her home for Thanksgiving.

Seriously I hope he keeps her the hell away from the team and that we don't get into a Dunbar situation where she joins the QBack Club (if it still exists) and starts paying for him AND his friends to go on trips with them. I really hope his parents step in and do something to set him back on a better path. This didn't really even work out for Joel's buddy Gronkowski and he's a pro.

Corey and I have been discussing this off line. First of all, he will be a hero in the locker room. I mean, you are talking about living the teen age dream there.

Kelly will not be happy at all. Huge distraction.

I wonder about the NCAA sniffing around. 19 year old kid makes his way to NYC and and courtside seats at The Garden. Who paid? He was sitting down there by Spike Lee, Woody Allen and a host of other celebrities in seats that go for a LOT of money.

As I said to Corey, I don't see this being laughed off in South Bend. We must at least consider the possibility that he will be catching passes next year for Valparaiso City College.

But his legend will live on forever in Irish football lore. 8)

Well at least Manti' had earned his bones on the field this kid hasn't even played a snap yet he's already embarrassed the school and the program.

I get it that at his age bagging a porn star is probably getting him atta' boy's from guys his age. But it's unlikely that he's anything other than just a pawn in her publicity machine. Too bad he can't see that he's being made the fool and that he's embarrassed his school. I really would like to know what his parents have said about it. Also I sure hope that he's not violating any NCAA rules.

I can't imagine that Kelly is very happy. I'd be very happy to see his ass transfer to UCLA so he can be closer to the porn industry.

I think it's unfair to say he's not earned his bone. As KP pointed out, at least she's real.. and not a dude.

Since my Facebook feed is always jammed up with pictures of Harlow, you guys probably missed this...

I'm sure he'll be in some sort of trouble at school. Kelly will probably have this kid pushing sleds until he has the thighs of Earl Campbell... and he'll still be a locker room legend.

I don't sweat the Dunbar angle unless this chick has found a way to become a booster at ND. He doesn't play so there's no competitive advantage gained. I'd rather he make 'dumb mistakes' like this now rather than later.

Great headlines but alot of noise about nothing. In the NCAA rules sense what does it matter who he is dating? :?

Quick somewhat related side question.. Does ND have booster clubs anymore, or were they all destroyed after the Dunbar incident? I think the safe thing would be to get rid of booster clubs, but that doesn't mean it was done.

Let's clear up a rampant misconception. Notre Dame NEVER has had a booster club. NEVER. All contributions to the university go directly to the university. Given that my memory is not always accurate, I believe that the Dunbar fiasco happened because she paid an amount of money - I recall that it was a small amount, less than $100 - to gain admission to the weekly football luncheons. Because of that the NCAA classified her as a booster. I also recall that as a result, the luncheons were ended. In retrospect, it was a lame accusation compared to what goes on today in the college football world.

They still have a kickoff luncheon on Friday's with coaches and players. It's held in the Joyce Center.

OK. So they didn't end the luncheons. They probably made some changes in how they are staged so that the problem doesn't re-surface in the future.

By jove, that's it. She paid for a membership to the QB Club. Wasn't it something like $25.00? I still can't believe the NCAA classified the QB club as a booster organization. -sigh-

    Sid,
A couple of years ago, a guy in Alabama took Julio Jones on a fishing trip. The guy had no connection to Alabama at all but Jones had to sit out a couple of games because it was considered a violation. :?:

I'm gonna jump ahead because I saw Sid and Terry's exchange and this needed clarification. She joined the QB Club and they did the luncheons. Sid is absolutely correct that ND doesn't have booster clubs, or so they thought.

The Dunbar case required 2 absolutely bizarre rulings by the NCAA, which led to even more bizarre rulings by the NCAA.

    1. They found the Quarterback Club to be a booster club of the football program because the club had, in fact, made some sort of donation (blocking sleds or tackling dummies) back in the 1970s. Since they technically found the Quarterback Club to be a booster club....

    2. This enabled them to rule that she was, in fact, a booster of the football program.

If you read the entire ND findings and investigations (and didn't really care about ND one way or the other-ruling out homers and 'haters'), you'd **** yourself at all the leaps of faith and incredible rulings that investigation took. In my opinion, that is why so many ND fans harbor such an ax to grind with programs who actually commit violations and receive a slap on the wrist, if that. When this investigative committee came to a dead end, they either came up with a ******** ruling to keep their investigation going (we haven't found anything, but let's keep digging because we might find something), or they just made **** up. At the end of all that, the NCAA couldn't even make a determination of ANY major violations took place. The vote was split. The committee chair (the AD at Kentucky, I believe) is the one who pushed it forward to the penalty phase...

There's a few NCAA investigations that absolutely set me off. Obviously, ND's is one. Alabama's most recent probation was another. So many people talk about them, but they don't know what was done. This is why I have such a hard time defending the NCAA to protect the game that we all love in these lawsuits. These bastards know just what they are doing, and they know the public will protect them to save what they love. They are the Ike Turners of the sports world.
