    Big games this weekend.

Texas at Kansas State. The improving Longhorns will be a test for KState but with Bill Synder on the other sideline I think they Wildcats will be too much for Texas. KState has the ball in their court with regards to the B12, they are undefeated...win out and they win the title.

Oregon at CAL Oregon needs to keep wining...they should here on Friday Night.

Rutgers at Nebraska. Corndogs, Cornpone, CornCobbs, Cornhuskers...all winners here.

Miss State at Kentucky...should be no problem for the Dawgs.

Michigan at Michigan State....big game only because it involves MSU. Dantonio should continue his dominance of the Wolverines.

Texas Tech at TCU ...TCU has to keep wining, Tech's top receiver was shot up Sunday in some gang brawl...can't help the Red Raiders. Patterson is an excellent coach, better than Coach GQ

Arizona at Wash State...only a big game because Az has to keep wining, they along with USC, ASU, Utah all have 1 loss in the Pac12 South. Losing not an option if you want to get to the Champ game.

Ole Miss at LSU...huge game. Traditional Game, one of the most famous games in SEC history was LSU/Ole Miss where on Halloween night Heisman Trophy winner and future Dentist Billy Cannon returned a punt for a TD and LSU win. LSU put a whipping on Kentucky last week, are they finally rounding into to shape. Underdogs to Ole Miss at home...probably never happened in the modern era. Tigers will be ready and the crowd will be whipped into a frenzy by booze and partying before the game.

So. Carolina at Auburn. On paper should be an easy Auburn win, but Spurrier and Carolina are not to be taken lightly.

Ohio State at Penn State.... PSU sanctions have left them with a thin roster of scholarship players, they won some games earlier against Teams that Joel was probably shaking his head at them being on the schedule. Ohio State like Michigan State should cruise even on the road. But I'll bet Don will not be predicting a big win...not his style! :)

USC at Utah...not a playoff effecting game, but the winner stays in the race to play in the Pac12 Champ game. Irish need USC to win.

Arz State at Washington...again no playoff implications likely but State can't afford a loss if they want to keep up with the other 1 loss teams in the Pac12 south.

Alabama at Tenn...only put this here because we have 2 members involved. I think the Tenn defense is a little saltier than the Aggies and it is in Knoxville but Tenn offense has no chance against that Alabama defense. I don't see Alabama scoring almost 60 points again, but a solid win never the less.

I'm here Terry. I am hoping for an upset but since I am of the "glass-is-half-empty" personality type, my fear is that the Sparty fans will be rubing our noses in it again after Saturday's game.

    Terry,

regarding AJ's cryptic reference to "rooty birds", the link below provides your answer.

Lloyd's tracking and flushing skills are limited to sniffing for ice cream or pecan pie.

Are you using 20 or 12 gauge on these suped up chickens???

I planted a 50 acre dove field for our 2nd and 3rd phase hunt come on down to join us but you being a Marine are required to shoot with a 28 gauge. 8)

Actually a 16 gauge Ralph......more than enough all around shotgun....

Winchester pump Model 12......Nickel Steel......pops bought it decades ago....they stop making guns out of that when WWII broke out......could be worth a lot of money, but he had it Blued.

16 gauge side by side also......

I have a 12 gauge, but that's my goose and duck gun

Ok I'll keep this brief some people think this is a sports board "geesh"

Pretty confident your Winchester is valuable in spite of being blued just not as much. 16 gauges are sweet shooting but usually a bit expensive on the ammo side but great shooters as you know.

Enjoy the bird hunting, it seems the older I get football loses out to hunting season, just spent five days in Georgia hunting whitetail.

Hope he is careful. The McNeese breed of pheasant is just damn ruthless:

No problem, Ralph. A little variety here is OK. Plus it tells me more about you and AJ, which is a good thing. :)

Of course, there's a side benefit to this divergence. It brings forth Bobda's humor, which always is a good thing. :)

Way off topic here but I must share this with you. At the ripe age of 16, I was given a 20 gauge shotgun (single shot Savage), My dad, brother and myself were hunting on our farm in Delaware Co, Ohio.

We were hunting in a ditch that was dry, Dad on one side and my bother on the other side. First ringneck pheasant was mine if one could be stirred up.

One did take off in front of me and I lead it for about 30 feet and shot it real quick. Needless to say there was nothing to take back to the house for supper, but it was a real thrill for me.
