I don't think too much of Tillery taking his trips and visits. If you read the reddit Q&A with the kid, he seems to have a level head on his shoulders. I think he's just enjoying a 17 year old kid with this billion dollar industry fawning over him. You only get that once in your life if you're lucky. My bet is that he winds up at ND. If he doesn't, then he wasn't the right guy.

Current forecast, sunny, high 59, low 37. Excellent football weather if it holds.

As my college roommate in Australia wrote to me "that was unnecessarily uncomfortable."

Turnovers and the defense was never really ready for the fast tempo of UNC. I expect FSU will go fast as well after watching that game film. I hope Folston has had a light go on, excellent game by him.

Will everyone (media included) PLEASE STOP talking about Golson as a Heisman candidate? He's an outstanding athlete and an excellent QB, but he is NOT a candidate for the Heisman.

Memo to coaching staff: Why are you trying to get Golson to move up in the pocket halfway through the season? He doesn't know how to do it, and he's wading into trouble every time. Our O-line cannot sustain pass blocking long enough for him to do it. Let him go back to his deep drop where he has better vision and more time to check down on his receivers. Geesh!

We are not ready for FSU.

Golson has become a turnover machine. He could have had at least two more today than the three he put up. He looked uncomfortable the entire game. I wonder if Zaire popped into Kelly's head at any point.

I seriously doubt we'll see Kelly sit Gilson. His history at ND is he sticks with the starter.

Watching games today Gilson is far from the best or even one of the best QB's. Both the Mississippi QBs are better, Mariota is better, several others as well.

What the hell is roughing the snapper ? In 52 years of playing, coaching and watching football I never heard of that one. I played center for four years and never heard of that one.

You could argue that that call saved our bacon today.

UNC had 510 total yards and 27 first downs to go with their 43 points.

I recall ND being call for that against Stanford about 5 yrs ago on a punt that we ran back for a TD. The rule is you can't hit the snapper until after he has attained a position to defend himself. ND's coaches bitched to the refs that NC had been hitting the snapper early during the game and they eventually called it.

The team: I didn't think the defense was that bad. That's a very good offense and let's consider that Golson gave them 21 points. We still won the game. The only drive that really pissed me off were the 1st UNC drive, because we weren't ready and the last, because we seemed to take our foot off the gas.

We're unbeaten and I know I sound silly bitching about some of these things, but why can't we run the ball when it's there? I normally spend my Saturday afternoons wanting to throw empty beer cans at my TV whenever Flutie speaks, but he actually made a great point today. We were, for once, having success running the ball on 1st down. It was setting up manageable down and distance plays on 2nd or 3rd down. It also opens up our big play ability because the safeties have to tighten up on a 2nd and 2 or 3rd and 4. We were getting the yards and Folson was running like a grown ass man. Feed him the rock.

Sid, I agree..stop the Heisman talk.

George, the rule as I understand it is that the long snapper must have the ability to defend himself. Where this well meaning rule becomes horse **** is in the manner it benefited us today. The long snapper left his head down looking at the target well past a 2 Mississippi count and he got hit.
