Buckeyes played very well today at Maryland. J.T. Barrett looks better every game. Elliot at tailback is doing fine with two straight games or over 100 yards per game.

Defense is work in progress, but looked better today than playing Cincinnati last week.

We scored far more points today than I anticipated with the defense scoring on two possessions.

Another bye week coming up next week and then we will face Rutgers here at home.

Holy Crap, USC just got Flutied!! Hail Mary as time expires...down go the Trojans.

Ute's have the Bruins down at the moment...but so did ASU till UCLA got hot and scorched them. We'll see.

Utah has a lot of California kids usually and loves to **** on UCLA or USC when they get the chance. Look for the Utes to scrap to the end here.

Utah upsets UCLA at the Rose Bowl. It came down to a Bruin FG that missed, but the kicker was roughed, so they got another try from 50 yds, but that missed too. What if they had a year where there was no champion or Heisman Trophy either?

Utah deserved to win that game. This season is starting to get fun.

Clearly I went to bed too early.

    1. Stopped watching the destruction of Neb by the physical/fast MSU defense, it was like watching baby seals get ...you know. I guess Bo got tired of it as well, or maybe MSU started to have some compassion, when they should have kept clubbing. But a wild finish and instead of cruising to a victory, MSU barely hangs on.

    2. I had switched to UCLA and didn't watch long, UCLA was down 14-0 and based on the ASU game I figured UCLA had them where they wanted them and it was going to be a blood bath. I hate watching UCLA win, so I turned it off and went to bed. UCLA didn't win???? Yeaaaaa! Whole Pac12 sucked this week!!

    3. Didn't even think to try to find the Wazzu game, should have. It was the ultimate coog it game. How do you throw for 700+ yds and lose 60-59? Now that's tough to do, another old time pac 10 ball game. I shouldn't have watched. As Bear Down Rick rememmbered I used to love those late night Fox games where the main Pac10 team plays were ...You, you go long. Drawn in the dirt, or in today's game scratched in the field turf. :)

    4. I have to say this about the upcoming Final Four....the media is already starting that the SEC West is like the NFL and should get 2 teams in the Final Four no matter what number of losses that they have. SEC Champ is in, no matter who it is and what their record is and then if it is not a SEC West team, then the 2 best SEC West teams are also in....so we have 3 SEC teams. You watch that is going to be talked about as a possible senario.

    5. Oh yeah I think maybe So.Carolina isn't a very good team...way over rated. Georgia has Todd Gurley not much more.

...getting off my anti SEC rant. Sorry :?

Poor Kes. I watched most of the first half... then had to turn in.
His QB was lights out... ZERO INT's... which is usually how they manage to blow it. Not last night - they gave up consecutive 100 yard kickoff returns for TD's. Now that's creative Couging!
    :x

Yes, there will be lots of ridiculous talk of an all SEC final four, and it's just that - talk. It gets the rest of the world riled up so they keep doing it.

I'm pretty sure the committee will make it right. There might be two SEC teams in the mix, but I doubt it.

Certainly the Aggies won't be there.
They started the season with fire in their eyes and a chip on their shoulder after all the talk of sucking post Manziel. They obliterated an average SCAR team... and they said "See, we're not so bad". They haven't come close to that intensity or execution since.
I don't know what's going on with my guys, but it's across the board and they better get their sh!t together if they don't want to end up in Shreveport at the end of the year...

    re: 12Pac shootout 8)

Those score-crazy coaches came from YOUR conference Terry! With Sonny Dykes at Cal and Mike Leach at Wazzoo there's going to be more 100+ point games in the 12Pac...

Lol...given the Texas offense we needed to keep one of those guys home!! :)

B12 gets no respect, yet two teams who were just average in the B12 are now doing extremely well in the SEC. We play pretty good football. :)

I just felt so bad for Kes. The kid throws for half a mile and loses.. Jeez.

Re Talking Heads: They really are pathetic. You can see right through them if you just try to see the agenda. They are already mocking the idea of 'comparing scores' after they've been using comparitive scores on ESPN for 4 weeks. The reason for doing that? Well, currently defending SEC East Champ and 1st place in the SEC East, Missouri, was beaten at home by Indiana.

They don't want to talk about things such as Virginia is actually a pretty decent team. That doesn't matter to them. They cast their judgement and move on sticking to it. It's a fool's game to be doing this less than halfway through the season. We just don't know who is really good yet.

    We'll find out though.

Wazzu missed a 19 yd FG to win. ouch. Rough season for those guys. Maybe they will finish strong. I hope so.

Pac12 though in general is in trouble. They have a lot of pretty equally matched teams. Oregon/UCLA will leave one team with 2 losses. Stanford already has 2 losses. I don't think Arizona is going to continue undefeated. I think the Pac12 could easily have a 2 loss champion.

Although to tell you the truth I won't be surprised if there are no undefeated teams at the end. If FSU beats the Irish they will have the best shot at it.

Getting a Final Four is going to be extremely controversial.

Michigan State AD jumps on the students for leaving early. It's a constant theme around college football. Last year Saban got after Alabama students for leaving early in games. It's been talked about a lot with regards to declining attendance by students in general.

Here's a pict of the MSU student section in the 2nd half.

Although to be fair it was miserable in the Midwest his weekend, and by the time MSU got up 27-3 given the weather hard to complain about fans leaving. Of course they didn't know Neb would rally. [/img]

    :p

They're college kids...so what? Last Saturday, my grandson was on the field at the Coliseum in Los Angeles to witness the Sun Devil's miracle Flutie-bomb. He took a student bus from Tempe, Arizona, then got some field passes from a former teammate that ASU is recruiting, then slept at his parents house; then took the student-rooter bus back to Tempe the next day. Uh...when do they do homework? Somewhere in between the football, beer and girls?

When the Bruins clobbered ASU in Tempe 62-27, his fraternity brothers demanded to know why he and Leroy (his former HS receiver and roommate) had stayed all the way to the end of game. Why didn't they walk out like all the other students? He explained: "I have friends who play for UCLA..."

These college kids are in a different world from the rest of us. They're having fun and you're only young once. I say, let them have fun...[/i][/u]

I agree JOCO.. but something missed here is that the administration clearly views the kids as little dollar signs and they don't understand why this generation appears to be turning their back on the 'entertainment' they are being fed.

I honestly think we've reached that breaking point between commercialism and 'amateur athletics' in which the hypocrisy is barely hidden anymore. Those games are expensive to stay at (Brendan's sideline passes not withstanding) and the beer is cheap just down the street. Why would you stay?

I know the A&M administration pays attention to the student attendance (it has NOT been a problem in College Station) but that's not to see if they stay.
They want them engaged with the football program not for the money they bring now (Our students pay a much lower ticket price - subsidized by season ticket holders like me) but for the season ticket holders they will become later.

If the game is a blow out... you'll see them leaving in the 4th. I'd prefer they stay, but I remember how it was.

Heck, I leave a lot of the night games early... but I do have a 3 hour drive home.
