Lots of good ones this week...starting Thursday night with Arizona making the trip to Autzen to play Oregon. They blasted the Ducks last year in Tucson, no doubt the Ducks are ready to get back. I was listening to XM College Sports this morning and Greg McElroy said that Arizona's WR are amongst the best group in the nation. Which I thought a little odd given that I don't think RR likes to throw the ball that much. But maybe his offense has evolved.

ND vs Stanford. Huge game for both schools
Neb vs Mich State...winner still in the hunt for the Final Four.
Ole Miss vs Alabama ...well both are undefeated, but I think Bama will do a number on them.
LSU vs Auburn...The Hat is going with his true freshman QB at Auburn.
Texas A&M vs Miss State. I don't know, I wonder how good MSU really is.
Gators at Tenn ...both teams really need a win badly.
TCU vs OU...OU is many peoples #1 team, TCU is undefeated.
Baylor vs Texas....Longhorns going to tear those Bears a new one.
Ohio State at Maryland...Maryland much better team than people thought.
Mich at Rutgers...RU also better than expected. Everybody will have their eye on this game even though in the big scheme it doesn't mean much.

    Ya hear that Muschamp?.....

Best weekend so far this year in terms of match-ups.

Getting new batteries for the remote and digging the pizza delivery coupons from the drawer.... 8)

Tennessee is sending out notices to season ticket holders to wear orange for certain seats and white for others. The end result should be an orange and white checkerboard in the stands.

A lot of optimism in Knoxville right now.

Rutgers not the B1G joke they expected. I think they have a great chance to beat UM this week.

    George,

Maryland will be a good test for the Buckeyes as well and at home to boot!

Randy Edsall got off to a rough start at Maryland going 2-10 and 4-8 his first two years and I think he had some player issues those first few years. Probably fewer than Charlie Strong is having at Texas but still I think I read more than a few places that the players hated him and he wouldn't last.

But here he is 4 years into the job and after getting above .500 last year is of to a good start this year. His UConn teams ran the ball and were pretty conventional on offense, no razzle dazzle spread. Not sure what he's doing right now at Maryland but he seems to have them going in the right direction. Still as Cincy found out last week, it's a big step up when Ohio State is the opponent.

    Terry,

Maryland appears to be a pretty solid ball club and more competitive than some os us thought early on, they have a decent passing game, which always causes me some concern.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. The Aggies are the early game, so I'll get to watch a lot of ball.

    A few thoughts:

ND vs Stanford... I will watch this with a lot of curiosity. Both seem to have strengths, and some weaknesses... who exploits them best?

Neb vs Mich State... I have a feeling Bo and AJ are going to be red-faced, but you never know.

Ole Miss vs Alabama... Miss has built this into the ultrabowl. I just wonder if their wheels will come off when Bama hits them in the face?

LSU vs Auburn... Both of these teams have holes, I guess the performance of the fish QB is going to determine a lot.

Texas A&M vs Miss State... I think MSU is pretty salty, but their defense isn't built to run with the SHO. Which offense shows up for the Aggies? The perfect execution of the SCAR game, or the lackadasical rough one that slipped past Ark???

Gators at Tenn...this sure looks like quicksand for the Gators.

TCU vs OU...I would love TCU to knock off the Landthieves, but I suspect they don't have enough horsepower.

Baylor vs Texas... I think Terry is dreaming, but will actually be pulling for Charlie's boys. Baylor is so full of it... with that pathetic sched they only have to show up a few times this year.

Ohio State at Maryland... weird stuff happens on the road, but I still expect OSU to house the Terps.

normally I'd say starting a freshman in a viper's nest like Auburn is a recipe for disaster and a downright dumb move.. However, the hat has a long history of success making 'dumb moves' look genius.

Yikes Texas is a 16.5 point underdog at home vs Baylor. That does not compute.

    1. MSU will NOT be in the Final 4. They were obliterated by Oregon.
    2. Mississippi matches up well vs. Bama. I will be watching this one.
    3. I pick Baylor to bomb the Lhorns like Dusseldorf in clear weather...
    4. Rutgers is better than Minnehaha...
    5. Ohio State should bomb Maryland...
    6. The Hat is in trouble @ Auburn...

Good, Phil picked Arky to beat the Aggies last week so I feel a lot better.

It'd be even better if he could play QB or maybe OT! :)

BTW did you guys see Mud? It was a great movie, also thought he was great in the True Detective series on HBO.

I went to bed before the half, but even then the Ducks didn't look dominant or even better than just another team. I guess in retrospect the 7 or 8 sacks that the Ducks gave up to Wazzu in their narrow win last week at Wazzu should have told us something.

The Duck OL has really been hit hard by injuries. At this point the Ducks really aren't even an top 10 team, they'll lose 2 or 3 more games in the Pac12. Too bad for Marcus Mariota he's really an awesome player, he gets the ball out of their so fast. But a couple of more losses and no Heisman Trophy.
