UCLA obliterated ASU and Mora kept his starters in right to the end...

Obliterated is an understatement. I went to sleep close to the beginning of the 2nd quarter with ASU leading 10 - 6. When I woke up, it was being replayed on the same channel and I was able to watch the 2nd half in it's entirety. This was an old fashion taking out behind the wood shed.

I went to bed at halftime, looked like a pretty close game at that point, the ASU back up QB was playing pretty well, that INT right before the half was his biggest mistake.

But clearly the Bruins took out their frustrations of not starting the season quite as well as expected on the Sun Devils. They had fallen out of the top 10, but they of course are still unbeaten. Close wins versus lightly regarded UVa, terrible Memphis team and a reeling Texas team have hurt them. I have a feeling that is why Mora kept the pedal down on them, he needed a big blowout win to get people/voters thinking UCLA belonged in the top 10. Just beating ASU wasn't really good enough.

BTW Hundley sure didn't look injured to me, he looked healthy, sharp, strong, etc in the 1st half.

Not disrespecting us...hoping for a good showing...but I'd take the points and the Bearcats.

I am with Stu, point spread way too generous in favor of Buckeyes. I look for a close game, still not convinced we have a much improved pass defense?

Nor was I impressed with our receivers ability to get open in man coverage in the Va. Tech game...and we just lost a receiver.

And that's why you have to play the whole game and then some. Ark looked in total control, crushing A&M with their power running and setting the Aggies up for play action....till they stopped being successful and gave up the big play at the end of regular time and the big play in OT, then couldn't run the ball.

    Very exciting game.

Man, ND... what a stinker. The defense is good though. How can Golson be the best player for both teams? I don't know, but he is.

I'm up late hoping USC loses to Oregon State at home for the first time since 1960. It probably won't happen, but having dreams is important.

Arkansas just gave that game away with shoddy coverage and tackling. Nothing against A&M, but the Hogs killed themselves.

Speaking of that, NC State had it all but couldn't keep going toe to toe with FSU.

I think I'm going to go register keepbradyhoke.com and start my own media campaign. That was the biggest margin of victory for Minnesota since 1977's 16-0 game for the Little Brown Jug.

Pedo State is no longer unbeaten. That makes me happy.

Colorado State beat Boston College. Hilarity ensues.

Speaking of that, Akron beat Pitt by 11. You Mark May haters may wanna tune into the post-game show tonight.

Missouri avenged last year's collapse against SCAR by orchestrating a 4th quarter comeback in Columbus. hahahahaha

Cal was being clocked by Colorado the last time I looked, but it appears Cal came back to win 58-56. I have no idea what happened there.

Stanford won close. They look physical, but they also seem to be limited by the guy wearing the headset.

Texas joined the Charlie Weis farewell tour by blanking the guru.

Ole Miss struggled mightily with Memphis, but a fight seemed to put some fire in them and they won by a couple TDs going away.

I really had mixed emotions going into that game last night with Cincinnati. (I do not like 6:00 game times)

J.T. Barett continues to improve each game. The Buckeyes can score, but our pass defense is still very porous. 45 first downs set a new record and the 710 yards in total offense was not shabby either. (Cincy is a weak sister)

Looking forward to the matchup with Maryland next week and the beginning of B!G TEN play.

Charlie Weis fired by Kansas.

I supported him at ND, as I do every ND coach, but but it's glaringly obvious that he's been a complete failure at Kansas.

The biggest mistake they made was firing Turner Gill. He was taught by one of the best. But the new AD at KU thought he knew better.

In other news......a big thanks to the state of Indiana for letting us have the services of Randy "The Beast Man" Gregory....the guy was out of control last night against Illini.....they switch him from DE to MLB to CB...and he does all well....amazing athlete!!

Never has a man reaped more financial reward for so little talent. He should kiss his agent's behind every day.

He rode Bill Parcell's coat tails with the Giants . And Bill Belecek's with the Pats. Then throws down the gauntlet at ND by expressing his perception that he was smarter than anyone else in college football right off the top. Then got his ass kicked in almost every big game while his kid fiddled with the head phones. On to Kansas where he dumped 29 players on arrival and openly mocked the ones who stayed behind. They finally tired of his crap as well.

So the the Irish pay him through 2015 and now Kansas is on the hook for another $7 million through 2016.

Turner Gill, unlike Tim Tebow, got another chance and is the HC at Liberty doing a pretty good job it appears.

    Week 5 thoughts.

FSU, not as good as last year. NCState warmed up for them by playing Presbyterian College and almost beat them. Defense doesn't seem as good. Still a likely playoff team though. Only Notre Dame stands between them and and undfeated season it appears.

SEC: The Tide clearly look like the best and most balanced team. Arkansas RB's looked like Jim Brown clones for most of the game till they didn't. I actually thought A&M was going to get crushed when it was 28-14, but then they didn't. If Ark could figure out A&M, I have to think that Saban and the Hat will also figure them out as well. Auburn don't know, So.Carolina and Georgia aren't as good as we thought preseason. Missouri don't know what to think. Gators and Vols ...big game coming up, but don't think either team is great. Ole Miss, might be over rated, they might get humped like the Gators did this weekend when kp's boys show up.

ACC: Dumpster Fire. Clemson apparently can only show up and play up to all the talent they have on their roster when it's not FSU. Rest of the League decidedly average.

B12: Some really good teams here, OU, Baylor, Ok.State, TCU, KState, and Texas Tech. I like the balance the league has right now, should be a lot of fun games to watch. Might knock each other out, everybody says OU is the class of the league. Maybe so.

B1G: Wow, set up the fireworks for E.Lansing and Neb/Michigan State. Could be the best B1G game of the year to date. Wisconsin looking good, Ohio State seems to be finding their legs. Those 4 teams are it, I don't consider Minn a 30-7 loser to TCU as legit. If one of OSU, MSU, Neb or Wisc runs the table they'll get in the playoff. If nobody runs the table maybe not.

Pac12: Fratricide is what I'm thinking. I sent Kesley a text after the A&M game wondering if he had to get out the AED kit for Scott, but he responded this morning that he needed it for himself. I went to bed thinking Wazzu had lost...but they reverse cooged it on the Utes and got the win...did it in the rain. Must have been a fun game to be in the stands right Scott? :) Seriously this league is so close top to bottom there is no way there will be an undefeated team, might all have 2 losses.

Terry, I love ya, but you come up with some funny stuff!
OU... probably a really good team, although I'm not totally sold. The rest: MEH.
Baylor has yet to play a team with a pulse. For the rest, I guess you are impressed by "good" losses? Um... I'm not.
While the end of your statement may prove to be true, the first never happened. A QB who is off most of the game, and WR's who refuse to catch the ball, or stay on their feet for sure TD's had nothing to do with Arkansas' defense and everything to do with coasting for 3 weeks against horrid teams.
One thing to note - in the 4th quarter, the Aggie DL rotation stayed strong, while the huge Ark OL wore down. Those three and outs were not accidents.

No paddles needed for me. I never get to high or low. The Fran years drained all of that out of me. I just enjoy the games now.

Had a great time with Kes even in the rain. That was my first WSU win! They had lost every other game I'd attended with Kes.
It was funny... Utah had a 21-0 lead right off the bat, but they hadn't really done anything sustained to earn it. It was all WSU miscues. As the game went on... the Cougs cleaned that up, and slowly closed the gap.
Kes told me the folks in SLC weren't really into football, and that was apparent by their reactions as the game went on. They would boo the silliest things that didn't go their way. Rather than just saying "aw crap, we gotta do better", they'd rather yell at the refs...
The 1000 yard stares on the Ute fans was priceless as we were leaving.
