I get to see a few games before I head to College Station.

Wow... everyone is dogging SCAR, but it turns out ECU is actually pretty good.
I don't think VT is as great as they looked in Columbus, but their defense is pretty salty and ECU is taking them apart so far.

    I thought Vandy was horrid.
Turns out... I was giving them too much credit.

UCF is giving Mizzou all they can handle...

Buckeyes looking more like a football team today, but on the other hand Kent State is not a very solid team this season. I can not see how VT looked so good against us last week and is losing to E Carolina today?

Kent State's band would have been a more worthy opponent. This is an incredible mis-match. The Buckeyes learn nothing from a game like this.

Meanwhile, Va Tech is experiencing the mother of all upset hangovers.

George, I intend to agree, but I do see some positives. At least we have two weeks to prepare for the Bearcats and Gunner Kiel!l

This is why the ACC gets no respect, look like Godzilla one week and then play like Howard the duck the following week. No consistency on a week by week basis.

E.Carolina gave So. Car quite a game last weekend...but then even though Va.Tech might not be as good as their win in Columbus, still they are a very tough team in Blacksburg. So for E. Carolina to go in there and win like that is pretty impressive.

I was surprised that UVa got the win over Louisville and W.Va took down B1G member Maryland and Ga.Tech squeaked by in their win as well.

Alabama struggled for the first half and much of the third qtr. We finally wore them out but Alabama is not the no. 3 team in the country. They may not even be no. 3 in SEC West. :(

I don't knoqbw kp from the way things have been going today, the Tide don't look perfect but they are clearly one of the best teams.

Right now Texas is up 10-3 on UCLA, our non-QB is actually doing very well and made some great plays in the last drive, on the play before the TD he was on the receiving end of 3 helmet to helmet hits that the refs missed. The UCLA QB, Hundley is out, don't know what happened to him. But Skippy Neuheisels son is now the QB and he doesn't look too good.

Huge upset if this Texas team can hang on in the 2nd half and win.

    Virginia beats Louisville.

BC is beating USC and just scored again.

Everyone is looking ugly. This looks like an early survival weekend where you just want to escape and pretend it never happened.

It could be, like a tournament, win and move on. I don't know. The real concern is that the Alabama weakness is defense especially pass defense. This is new territory for me.

Kentucky misses their FG..Gators look like they can pull it out if they can hold on to the ball and make a kick.

Florida looks like a team that will have 4 losses....which this year means 7-4 and a berth in the Gator Bowl thanks to the Idaho washout.

Kentucky looks like a team that will probably make a lesser bowl....so a much improved team up in Lexington.

Gritty win for UF.... but it shouldn't have been that hard.

poor Kentucky. They always find a way to lose to the Gators. The officials blew the call on that 4th down. I love how the SEC network showed clearly on the replay that the clock was at zero, but they barely mention it now. I suspect if that was another club, they'd treat it as headline news. Still, the Gators did what they had to do and found a way to win while Kentucky squandered their chances.

There was a lot of ugly football this weekend. Just win and advance as KP said.

    :p

    UCLA 20
    Texas 17

It was believed that Texas head coach Charlie Strong had kicked all the stupid players off his team. He must have missed a few. UCLA won the toss and the Texas captains chose to kick off... Of course, this meant that the Bruins chose to receive the second half kickoff too...with Texas kicking off to start both halves...

Brett Hundley hurt his non-throwing elbow early in the game and was replaced by walk-on QB Jerry Neuheisel from Loyola HS. This blond bomber, who looks like his father, is quite a story. He turned down many scholarship offers to walk-on at UCLA...as his father had once done. He didn't even transfer out when his dad was fired. He loves the school that much. Tonight was his first chance to play after years of riding the pine and he became an instant Bruin legend.

Texas took the lead with 5:13 left in the game and it looked like the end of this Cinderella story. Then UCLA got a long kick return and Jerry Neuheisel tossed a bomb to a WR streaking down the sideline and the Bruins won. The players carried him off the field chanting "Jerry!" Jerry!" like something out of a movie...

The main thing I remember about Skippy's kid is that he was Anthony Barr's teammate at Loyola and was best friends with him. Barr's used to spend the night at Skippy's house...in the end the friendship with Jerry was a big factor in him staying home...well that and Skippy telling him that he was an AA RB and not to listen to ND who was talking to him about maybe moving to defense. :?

I didn't see the game except for the last drive of the 1st half and then the last drive of the 2nd half by UCLA, that throw by Skippy's kid reminded me of the one that Leinart made in the wanning moments of the 2005 ND/USC game...DB bit just a fraction of a second but that was all it took for the big play to happen. While disappointed we lost to UCLA, I do take some heart that backup/walkon QB or not we hung in there, heck at least the UCLA QB was a real QB not a TE playing QB. We really are bad on offense, no QB, no OL and really neither of our RB inspite of being rated #1 as RB's in the year that they were recruited are supermen enough to overcome lack of OL. Baylor and OU are not going to be fun to watch.

BC/USC....are you freak'n kidding me they hardly throw a pass and beat USC? I did mention though how tough it was for a West Coast team to go all the way to NE and play a game.

UK/UF that's how those streaks work out, sometimes teams like UF just find ways to win when they shouldn't. Irish fans remember Allen Rossum running down a middie to save Lou Holtz from being the coach who lost to Navy or how about the Irish DB who weighed 160lbs taking on the Army TE who was about to Score the winner and knocking him backward. Ivory Covington. (I think) ..saved he Irish from a sure loss. They aren't all blowouts, got to have some luck in a streak.

That loss by UGA to So. Car was huge in the over all picture. It doesn't knock UGA out of the picture for the final 4, but it gives some other teams an edge. If they'd continued undefeated and so did Alabama then they could easily have ended up in the top 4 at the end of the regular season and there would have been a lot of pressure to put the loser and winner of the SECCG into the Final Four. It hurts Todd Gurley in the Heisman race but not by a lot, he had a good game, had a big run called back so if he continues to play well he'll be in NYC.

I want Todd Gurley on my NFL fantasy team.

"A group of friends greeted Steve Spurrier after he concluded his post-game press conference.

"Meant to be," Spurrier, fresh off his 16th career win over Georgia and his fourth in five tries, told the group in between hugs and handshakes. "Meant to be."

How else do you explain Georgia's appearance to South Carolina's 3-yard line in the final minutes, armed with the country's best offensive player, only to disappear without a point?

Yep, Spurrier just loves to needle Georgia."

Damn..... sometimes I do miss Spurrier coaching up the Gators and causing misery to our enemies.

That's the quote of the day.
The Aggies looked like hammered sh!t, and so did the field.
I give the field a pass - 6 inches of rain on sod that's only a month old will do that.
    The team is another story.
The offense was sluggish and the defense was horrible.
We are down two LB's right now and it showed big time.
They kept trying different guys in the middle, and never did find one who could both get to the right place AND make a tackle.
I've never had a worse time watching an easy win.

Hey Coach....how many rushing yards did LA have against San Fran Saturday night in their shutout?

    Cards magic # 10.....LA's 11.....
