Big games this week are ...

    UCLA/Texas
    Georgia/South Carolina
    Tenn/Oklahoma.

USC/Boston College....BC a very average team that USC should beat handily, but West Coast teams going all the way to the East coast frequently have problems. I think in the NFL there are definite stats that show West Coast teams making that trip are at a big disadvantage.

Don't forget the other half of the Bev10 vs SEC challenge:
    Arkansas vs Tech.

Nice of you guys to take on the lower half of the conference.
I think the Hogs are going to straight up maul Tech.

I don't really expect Tenn to pull off the upset on the road this early in the year, they just don't have enough experience.
Then again, OU is VASTLY overrated to my eye.
We'd punk them again just like we did in the Cotton bowl.

UCLA/Tex could end up just as ugly as the original Route 66. That assumes Charlie didn't notice how awful the Bruin OL is. I'd be sending the house just about every play. A few takeaways could help out the Orange offense a lot.

Uga/SCAR. I'd really like Spurrier to give them a game, but I expect a blow out. Guess we'll see what the Ball Coach can pull out of his hat.

You mean Kentucky at Florida is not a big game?

You must have forgotten that Kentucky finished 2nd in the NCAA tournament last year. :)

Kentucky-Florida is one of those oddly fun games. It should always be a blow out, but for whatever reason, Kentucky finds a way to make it interesting some times.

UCLA has looked like absolute horse **** in their first 2 games. They've either been sand bagging (something you can never put past a douche like Mora) or they just might be in trouble.

I think the Vols can give the Sooners a run for the money if they don't implode due to youthful mistakes.

    Oh yeah, Georgia-SCAR.

I think Georgia wins unless SOS gets in UGa's head. SCAR just doesn't look that good to me.

When the deck seems stacked against him is when Spurrier is at his most dangerous.... that's all I'm sayin....

On UF-KY... I am looking forward to seeing if that marked improvement on offense is for real. What that means is a plodding, mundane 28-17 type victory is not the improvement I'm looking for. I want to see Florida's athletes do what they do best.... and that is just be the athletes that they are and fly around and make plays.

I hope the bridle is off the horse..... UF 45-10 over the Cats.

UT-OU could be closer than the experts think.... I believe it will be.
Take the Vols plus the points but I expect a close Sooners victory at home.

    27 in a row Ralph.

However some of them took incredible turns for the Gators to win.

Then many of them have been blowouts.

Corey is right that incredibly Kentucky makes the games interesting at times.

Personally I don't think this is the year that happens.

That win streak has a lot more to do with Kentucky being shitty than it does Gator greatness. They've imploded in some incredible ways over the years. While the final score normally does not match the context of the game, it should be noted that some of Florida's greatest teams struggled with Kentucky for 3 (and sometimes all 4) quarters.

Corey is mostly correct and we have stubbled with Kentucky winning late quite a few times.

However I would argue a little bit whether Kentucky being shitty or the Gators being great was the biggest reason. :)

But by whatever combination we have won 27 straight.

But.............. we also had just about as long a winning streak against Vandy ended last year. In spectacular fashion, being totally dominated.

I think we start that streak over again this year.

This is true in that the Gator greatness can't be denied. Still, there were a few teams (I wanna say maybe Zook and early Urbie?) in which Kentucky had the game and exploded like a jihadi on a bus full of virgins.

Now that Ohio State has absorbed the loss to the Hokies, we will entertain Kent State Saturday in a 12:00 Noon start.

Noah Spence will be back in the defensive front and we will be at full strength for the first time.

We still need to try and open some holes for our rushing attack, which has been non existent thus far.

Hopefully J.T. will have some more time to make some plays this week. Things can not get any worse?

a lot of top 25 games this week where the spread is 30 points or so. Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Ole Miss, Texas A&M. The king this week is Alabama who is a 47 point favorite.

The shock of the week is that Texas is only a 8 point dog to UCLA on a neutral field. The 2nd shock of the week is Neb only a 10 point favorite over Fresno State who has given up 52 and 59 points in it's 2 losses so far this season.

Interesting lookback Bill on the history of the Ky-UF football series.

    I offer this also:

    UF UK
    1995 42 7
    1996 65 0
    2001 44 10
    2006 26 7
    2008 63 5
    2009 41 7

The years listed include the three UF national championship teams and some that were pretty damn close to it..... 6 of Florida's arguably best teams since Spurrier arrived at UF in 1990.

They obviously had no trouble with the Cats.

Hence.... I would love to see this team this year in a cakewalk over the Wildcats.... hopefully as an indicator of things to come.

Would you Gators say that by Sunday Nov 2 that Muschamp's future will be set? That includes a stretch of games with 'Bama, LSU and Georgia and throw in Tenn to boot.

Unless the team falls on it's ass like last season I think the FSU game has to be played as well for Muschamp to be done.

Watching the team last year and seeing all of the injuries I wasn't surprised the eventual disaster occurred as it did.

After what I saw last Sat. and considering that UF is pretty healthy a repeat of last season would definitely surprise me.

    Terry,

I'm not sure many of those lines are high ENOUGH.
A&M opened +28 for Rice. I would give those points in a heartbeat if I was in Vegas.
