The MAC is putting the wood to the B10 this week so far. Central Mich kicked the crap out of Purdue at West Lafayette. Ball State is beating Iowa in Iowa City. But, on the bright side, it is a scoreless tie between NIU at Northwestern at the half.

USC lost the stats game but won the game, even had Stanford winning TD come off the board.

I think our field goal team has a malfunction.

There were 2 games this week that I don't know what the hell happened, but they both wound up blow outs.

Michigan State was up on Oregon with 5 minutes left in the 3rd. I stopped checking on the game to watch ND and parent. (not in that order), next thing I know, Oregon blew their doors off and almost hung half a hundred on them despite only having 18 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd...

The other was BYU-Texas. That thing was a low scoring FG war, kinda like I figured, but I just checked the score to see BYU housed them after I stopped checking.

    So, what happened?

    re: Oregon

I think they scored around five TDs in three minutes......or maybe it was three TDs in five minutes. They do that stuff all the time. Dantonio looked like he didn't know what hit him after the game. He didn't really comprehend that his team had just been blown out...

    re: Texas

Years ago UCLA beat them in Austin in the infamous "Rout 66" game. The next year, the Bruins pounded them again at the Rose Bowl. Both times the Lhorns refused to admit that they had actually lost...as if 66 points was some kind of fluke. Now it's BYU pounding them like a red-headed stepchild, and the Texans don't want to believe it. The truth is: BYU has better players.

Ohio State fans bitterly disappointed in our performance, or lack thereof, to the Hokies here at home.

Our offensive line really sucks, allowing seven sacks, and J.T. Barrett was scrambling for his life all night long.

Unless Coach Meyer can turn things around quickly, I can see four losses or more this season.

However, Virginia Tech had an excellent game plan and executed it very well, with a number of young incoming players. Their defensive pressure was relentless all evening, and we simply were not prepared for them.

Texas loss. If BYU had to play the game without Tayson Hill, their 2 starting OT and starting Center, maybe they wouldn't have won the game.

That was the issue, Texas has a lot of talent on the team. But unfortunatly Mack Brown's QB recruiting left us with 1 QB, David Ash who is concussion prone. The starter Tyrone Swoopes should be a TE. The only passes he can complete are the dink and dunk, and while he is a wonderful athlete he can't run the read option like Vince Young did despite similar body types/size/speed. Once BYU figured this all out they just humped us with their defense, being a RB for the Longhorns was being a marked man last night. They didn't have to worry about any play more than 10 yds from the line of scrimmage.

So what happened to the Longhorn Defense? That's a good question, Strong hadn't kicked off the key players on defense. That's the troubling question, granted when your O is going nowhere that puts a lot of pressure on your defense, and I'll give Tayson Hill his due he's an excellent QB who we couldn't stop last year and he's better this year.

Forecast for the Longhorns, more pain and suffering. UCLA, Baylor and Oklahoma are 3 of the next 4 games. Charlie Weis KU squad is the only one we have a chance at winning. Stoops, Mora and Briles will all hang 50+ on this squad.

Thanks MCG, I don't know if your remember but when we moved to North Carolina in 2007 I promptly ruptured the Quad tendon in my left leg. Getting back to bowling was my motivation to rehab and I did. This is the same leg but I think it is coming along pretty well.

We were at the Gator game last night and I did fine. Got an elevator pass to go to our seats on level 5 but walked down the ramp after the game.

Not only did I miss ALL the other games today, but our new scoreboard operator is a moron. They had about half the scores of on-going games WRONG.
At one point Texas was beating BYU 21-0 on our board!

While we waited for the lightning delay to end, (it never did rain on us) they put LSU vs SHSU on the big screens.
I got to see Fornette do his little pose.
Should have been flagged for that crap.
I guess he's been reading all his hype, and wanted to let us know he believes it.

New stadium: Wow! The noise level when totally enclosed is going to be EPIC.
Even as it is... there's a big volume jump.

    Freshman impact for the Aggies:
Myles Garrett gets at least 3 sacks, and several hurries.
Speedy Noil lives up to his name with a 62 yard punt return, and a 55 yard KO return.

Could be a long year for the Buckeyes. O-Line looks pretty soft. Without Miller points could come at a premium.

What surprises me is their defense though. Have not been dominant since UM arrived. This one is good up front but it ends there.

I watched the last 10 minutes or so of the Buckeye game, JT never had a chance, the Hokies abused the Buckeye OL. But they have 3 or 4 games before Penn State so I expect them to get better. Urban Meyer didn't win 2 Nat'l Championships without knowing how to coach, no matter how good Tebow was.

Hey Scott I think I saw you in the crowd shots, by the time I turned to the Aggie game there were maybe 10K fans or so left in the stands and I'm pretty sure I recognized you! ;)

BTW I must have missed the comments on Pat Haden coming down from the Press box to confront an offical. Apparently it's ok, no penalty. That it is ok really shocked me, how could the NCAA allow anybody other than players and coaches interact with officals during a game. If you have a sideline pass to watch the game can you dispute calls with officals?

If what Haden said is true, someone on the sideline texted him, which is in violation of the rule, i.e., only verbal communication between the sideline and the press box, no texting. However, there is no penalty stated, hence no consequence for the rule violation. Haden was the only thing about USC that I didn't hate, but that was a bush move at best. IMO it makes one wonder about his role as a member of the panel who chooses the 4 playoff teams.

Am I the only one who believes that it was a very sloppy game between two above average (far from very good to great) teams?
