According to the SEC Network talking heads, Tennessee will go 5-7 this year with SEC wins coming only against Kentucky and Vandy. All non-con games are wins except Oklahoma. Let's see how much this negative talk wakes up this team made up of 40% new recruits.
I feel ya Tom. Seems like the Aggies are destined to finish last in the West according to a few of those tools. Greg McElroy is a doofus. Unless you are LSU, Bama, SCAR,or Uga, you are screwed by losing any players from last year. Thankfully... we'll let the kids decide it on the fields.
That game with the Vols in K-ville this year may make or break Muschamp's future at Florida. I do expect a massive effort from UT but the Gators should be pretty desperate to get this W..... and Driskel may have a little extra incentive as well.
Hmm let's think about this, if any D1 school has A&M or the Vols on their schedule it will constitute as one of the bigger games for the year to the opposing team. The meat head analyst are just feeding off last seasons headlines no matter if its SEC network, ESPN, Pre-season magazines etc...The talent level in your recruiting has been off the charts and that is normally a great indicator of what to expect once the games resume. Good luck to both your teams this season.
Well it's certainly tough to have such a young squad as the Vols will have this year. They may be very talented young players but with so many of them I look for a lot of inconsistent play early in the season and a team that gets better as the year goes on and those young players get some game experience.
Some of the talking heads had me a little worried about that "All World" QB from Utah State. I hope he is All World. Just speaks better of our defense. We had true freshmen playing their first college football game looking like seasoned veterans. We may not be world beaters this year but we are going to surprise a few. Tennessee 38 - Utah State 7.
Tennessee looked great. That QB at Utah State IS all-world. If this was a one-man game they would have slaughtered you. The problem was the other 21 positions where the Vols had better players. Utah State is all passion and no players. It's a wonderful school made up of all the nice Mormon kids who couldn't get into BYU, but won't admit it. It's players are all the guys who weren't offered by either BYU or Utah and won't admit it. This creates a situation where Utah St. has pulled some high passion, did-you-see-that miracles against it's neighbors, but dismal records against everyone else. The result of their effort against the Vols was expected...
Great start to the season for Tennessee. After watching A&M and Tennessee, my fall just got a lot more stressful.
Good win, as JO'Co pointed out Utah State can be a dangerous foe, esp when they have a really goo QB. But the Vols never let them get started.
Thanks guys. KP, I have one question for you: Does your OC have the courage to call plays from the sideline when he comes to Tennessee this year? Smart money has him in the press box hidden from view. 8) 8) 8)
Tom and Cindy have to be feeling pretty good now. That defense has some real teeth. Chuckie is a good QB, but you kept him off balance and never let him get anything going. Your offense still has some things to iron out, but so does everyone else at this point of the season. You definitely have some guys who can play.
Tom, I don't know, he may be phoning it in from Tuscaloosa. You know there was a picture many years ago of Coach Bryant wearing a helmut as he got off of the bus in Atlanta when Alabama was going to play Ga. Tech because of irate Tech fans. Maybe that would be a good idea for Kiffin in Knoxville. 8)
