Husker's have a 333 game sellout streak and it'll likely continue but according to this article they are having to work hard to maintain it, unlike years past when there were long waiting lists. It's an issue that is hitting pretty much everybody, Texas fans have received promotional emails offering deals for single game tickets, Irish fans have received the same. I was told that you could still buy 8 tickets together for the Rice game. Ohio State and Penn State are not having this problem apparently. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11419206/nebraska-cornhuskers-michigan-wolverines-football-tickets-available
I've gotten emails from ND's ticket office about tix for some individual games. I get the impression that demand this year is less than in past years. Kids today have a tough time watching a football game and texting. The baby boomers are getting older and less mobile. Ticket prices are out of the reach of the generation living in their parents basement. And some people like to root for college kids but not union workers.
I'm glad to see it. The schools, ND included, have been raising prices every year because they can. It's about time there was pushback from the fans, who are tired of being taken advantage of. I hope ND's sellout streak gets broken and they come to their senses. They won't, but I can dream, can't I?
I got an email offering single game tickets to Mississippi State game for $75 each. Nose bleed section but ticket against SEC opponent are not usually available.
Hey, $75 is a reasonable price IMO for any seat in the house. ND blew by that number a few years ago and now is doing what many schools do, i.e., scaling prices upward for "prime" games. Ugh! With the road improvements between Indy and South Bend, the trip time has been reduced to around 2.5 hours, but at the current ticket prices, I'm content to watch the games on my big screen TV.
