If I remember right when he was the Dolphins coach he turned down an invitation to see the President, of the USA, because he couldn't take time away from his coaching. I might be wrong but it sticks in my mind.
I told Terry earlier this year right after we heard that no, Saban was not definitely going to Texas, that I had good news and bad news... the bad news: Saban was an asshole. The good news...he was Alabama's asshole. Just a little context there. 8)
I have to admit he's a hell of a coach. He pushes the envelope, but others push the envelope in other ways. He will go down as a great one.
It is arts and cars and beer in downtown Decatur Alabama. Good time just walking around 2nd Ave and Bank St in Decatur Alabama. I was looking for Corey in a Notre Dame T shirt. He would have stood out from the crowd.
Right now we are having a media issue in Houston with Arian Foster not giving the media it's due respect. I say good for him, for the most part those assholes ask dumb questions and a lot of the Yes or No do you still beat your wife questions. I enjoy Steve Spurrier and his approach to the media and hey more power to Saban IMHO, the guy is the best coach in America and doesn't have to take that crap. If I were a coach I'd be more like Jim Tressel who as far as I could tell gave as little information out to the media as he could, as opposed to Charlie Weis who never met a microphone he didn't like and thought he was smarter than they were...what's the old adage about not arguing with somebody who buys ink by the barrel?
Kp Corey is at the high school... they introduced the football players tonight.... His son Carson. is one of them.. he may be wearing a Decatur Raiders SHirt........ Does he know your in town
I was there for a hot minute at Gyro Uno to grab some food for the pregnant lady, but we had to run back over to Bank St to pick up Carson, who was with the hockey team. We had 'Meet the Raiders' tonight, which is really kinda cute when your kid is little. When you're a parent to a kid on the HS team, you're there forever. The freshman and JV scrimmaged. Then the Varsity scrimmaged. I did buy season tickets (2), near the 50 midway up. ****, I wish I'd have known you were going to 3rd Fridays. Carson's grandmother is one of the people helping to put all that together. Her office is over on Bank St though.(which is the north part of the 3rd Friday celebrations)
btw, I was wearing the "Irish Football' hoodie that my son brought me back from the ND camp hahahaha.
