I hope David has a great season, the kid has been through a lot and he's a really good kid. You won't find him down on 6th street oogling wimmens and trying to talk them into coming back to his room. No alkyhol either.

Mainly though I fear for his health, with those head injuries he probably should have given up football, but that's easy for me to say as I haven't invested most of my life as being a football player.

For the Longhorns we need him to be healthy and the David Ash that we had hoped he would be and the David Ash we saw in the 2nd half of the Oregon State game in the Alamo Bowl at the end of the 2012 season. The guys behind him are really really raw, Tyrone Swoopes got some snaps last year but had that deer in the headlights look, and Jerrod Heard is a better prospect but he is a true freshman. It's scary what might happen if he doesn't play up to expectations or gets injured.

phew...I know how interested you are in Longhorn football that's why I gave you the Long version! :)

I harbor no ill will against the kid, just his team. I remember our discussion about your QB situation last year, it doesn't look promising, but definitely better with Ash coming back for a couple snaps.

It was hard to miss the story since it was the main headline on EsPN when I opened it up.
