Dem Primary Winner For Governor Of Nevada: “None Of The Above”…

Flashback: Harry Reid says they will find a “respectable Democrat and someone that people know” to challenge Republican Governor Brian Sandoval.

    Via Breitbart:

An upset last night in the Democrat primary for governor of Nevada was almost as stunning as the Brat win in VA-7.

“None of the Above” won with 29.96% of the vote. Nevada was the first state to institute a “none of the above” line to its ballot in 1975, as a way for voters to protest weak, unqualified candidates.

Senator Harry Reid, who runs the Democrat party in Nevada with an iron fist, told reporters earlier this year, that the candidate to run against the popular Republican Governor Brian Sandoval, would be “a respectable Democrat and someone that people know.”

How about that choice in all elections? It's great in primary elections since that means that other choices have to be offered in a second election. If more incumbents were thrown out in primaries, those assholes in Congress just might get the message.

More polarization and less general support for the GOP:

    http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-primaries-20140611-story.html

The tea party will never.... I repeat never appeal to moderates who decide national elections.

They appeal to ultra-conservative talk radio/Fox News addicts who can't think for themselves or who believe everything right-wing they hear or read as long as it abhors everything but their own conservative viewpoints.

20% of the population will never govern the other 80%.

Big mistake for the GOP to keep coddling this extreme minority.

The 20% on the far left do not control the Dems like the 20% on the far right control the GOP in my opinon.

The articles out about Cantor's defeat highlight how the GOP knows it is weakened nationally if they let the far right minority in their party drive the party train.

Out one hour ago on CNN:

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/11/opinion/brazile-eric-cantor-gop/

I happen to believe we need a viable 2 party system of government..... rational government.

I don't believe the tea party offers us a rational choice.

But hey..... that's what streaming Fox News and Rush Limbaugh 24/7 will net you.... enough mobilized voters to elect tea partiers.

I will ask you a second time. Can you be specific as to why you fear the Tea party? What tenets do they espouse that make you nervous?

Not ignoring you George..... just busy at the moment.

I can say I haven't felt comfortable at all with just about any of the candidates the TP has trotted out for examination.

The Tea Party is just what this country needs. The last two GOP candidates were McCain and Romney both moderates. They lost to a radical leftists. We've seen how left unchecked the left will try to control every facet of our lives including the health care system. They time and again try to scare us with this ******** climate change theory saying that if we don't change our children will be in deep trouble. They cry that as they piss away trillions of dollars putting our future generations in deep deep debt.
So some Americans stand up and say "enough." We need to live within our means. We can't just keep growing government to regulate every part of the American life. You need to care as much about our right to own arms, our right to privacy in our phones and internet, and our right to have secure borders, as you do about the poor oppressed jehadist bastards at Gitmo. I can see why people who actually believe in the Constitution could be a threat to those that buy the idealistic impossibility spewed by the left.

George, here is a good article that describes some of the pitfalls of a tea party government:

    http://thedailybanter.com/2014/06/survive-tea-party-takeover/

While their ideology sounds good.... is deeply rooted in 1700s patriotism, etc..... the true application of that ideology is disconnected to today's America and the reality of how things are in America presently.

I want an America that I believed in as a kid..... honest, fair, humane and a much better place to live in than the rest of the world.

Maybe I have been naive but those are the virtues that I have always felt belonged to our way of doing things.

The tea party to me brings a harshness and a let them eat cake mentality that doesn't work for me.

The income gap is forever widening in this country and I see the tea partiers saying that's just fine..... it aint broke don't fix it.

Well... from a combination of stagnant wages with ever increasing cost of living essentials like healthcare especially.... it is broke..... and it needs to be fixed.

What a f'n joke. What nuclear deal? How can the Middle East be any less secure?
