New SEC rules will require all SEC teams to schedule a power conference opponent every year.

Welcome to the Midwest, Gators! :)

Florida already plays FSU every year, which fulfills their SEC non-con requirement.

Guess the Hoosiers' athletic department is adding additional telephone operators to their staff in anticipation of a deluge of phone calls from SEC schools:

Well back in the days of Black Moses we went down to FSU and whipped their asses solidly....then promptly laid an egg vs a decidedly mediocre Boston College team. That was pretty much the end of the Willingham era as we were never any good after that and he was fired a couple of years later by our racist AD.

So I fear not the Seminoles, but the the Navy game that follows it! :)

Those SEC schools better be aware that they aren't the same ole Hoosiers...they have all new uniforms!! They look good on the sidelines.

I seem to remember that we traveled down to Tally about 5 years ago. Left with a win too. :)

In 2002 in a 5 loss season for FSU.... ND hung an upset on the noles in Doak Campbell.

The next year FSU more than returned the favor 37-0 in South Bend.

This coming edition of FSU is the defending NCAA champ with many returning players.

Good luck on that 2014 upset.

Irish Sports Daily's Mike Frank interviewed Warchant.com Ben Jones on the prospects for FSU this year. It's part of his series on Irish opponents for 2014. He thinks the Irish have the best chance to beat FSU. It's from a pay article so I didn't post the link

I agree with Terry who said, albeit humorously, that we have no need to fear FSU. Certainly a lot of "ifs" re: ND need to materialize, but the potential certainly is there for a signature ND win.

Will ND be vastly improved this season? Enough to play with FSU in Tally?

If Winston doesn't show for that game anything's possible I guess.

I'm not saying the Irish will win this game but there is not as much separating these two teams as you would like to infer.

    Its all about matchups.

I just thought it was interesting that the Warchant guy said ND had the best chance of beating FSU of any team on the schedule. Clearly FSU is going to be very difficult to beat this year at home or on the road, but just like everybody thought Alabama was going to win the Nat'l Championship last year and go undefeated, virtually a lock when talking about them pre-season and during the season. But Auburn got lucky and beat them, maybe not so lucky though as they were in that game and going toe to toe with them and it was headed to OT, so maybe that wasn't just luck.

Irish should be a good team, it will clearly be an upset to beat FSU in Tally but I think we could do it. We'll need to beat a few other teams though before we have to worry about that, a date with Michigan the 2nd week of the season will be critical as will be the game with Stanford...then we can worry about FSU.
