    Well done Bobda

It is one of those topics for sure that can be debated with no agreements reached.

The poll now has 55% of the opinion that Manziel will either be a pro bowler or solid starter vs. 45% who think bust or back-up.

Here is an opinion under comments from an A&M fan no less that pretty much reflects what I think of his chances:

"He'll be a project. His lack of size and unconventional playing style will make his transition to the NFL more difficult. He'll need to continue working with a QB guru, become a pocket passer, better anticipate open receivers, run only when he has to, and, most importantly protect himself by running out of bounds or throwing the ball away. He's not built to take a lot of physical punishment!"

I agree because the NFL wants a mobile guy that only pulls it down out of sheer necessity. The days of Randall Cunningham types are apparently over.....and I can't imagine that JFF can be JFF if he is made to become a "pocket passer".

Who is built to take a lot of physical punishment, the avg RB only lasts 5 years. Arian Foster I think is pretty much done, he's now injury prone and coming off back surgery. The final straw will be when he declares he's in the best shape of his career.

But Manziel is built every bit as well or better than Russel Wilson and Drew Brees. He can do it, while neither were the riverboat gambler type that Manziel was in college, they were mobile and ran the ball plenty when needed. Wilson killed us this year in Reliant Stadium in the 4th qtr because even with a great pass rush he was able to make a spin and get outside to make a throw.

That is a key statement.... it's still a throw first mentality in the NFL for Qbs and I'm not sure Manziel has that mentality instilled in him.

That is what he will have to learn.... or the 45% will be right.

So Manziel scored a 32 on his Wunderlic test, the highest of any QB in the draft and 3 points higher than the NFL average.

I would love to see the Jets trade up for him; his kind of swagger might make him the next Broadway Joe.

I would love to see him make it...but think it would be a bit of a gamble for the Brown's to draft him.

There is no such thing as a "sure thing" but they need as close to that as they can get for QB

The shirt just keeps getting longer. :(

Due to size and inability to be a pocket passer CFN has an analysis showing Manziel to be the fifth best Qb in the draft and only an average NFL starter.

It talks about his lack of size leading to a durability issue..... which I agree with as some robo-LB will zero in on him sooner than later.

Certainly is a hot topic here in Houston, take a QB with the #1 pick or take Clowney. With Clowney you get an enigmatic player with incredible physical skills and possibly a 10 cent brain. He had a medicore year last year and whined all year long about it, making you wonder if he hadn't knocked off that kids helmet in the bowl game would he be getting all the publicity.

With the QB's they all have warts, Manziel has to answer character issue problems and size problems, Bortles has size and a hot girl friend but people wonder about a guy who nobody heard of at the begining of the year and had one good year against avg competition. Everything seems to hang on the fact that he beat Penn State in Happy Valley. Then there is the forgotten Teddy Bridgewater who is too thin and had a terrible Pro Day. Manziel had a terrific pro day and showed that he has a major league arm and accuracy...still will we see him in all the Houston clubs instead of home studying film??

I don't envy the Texans GM, no matter who he takes if that guy isn't a home run, starter and rookie of the year the fans are going to egg him.

I wish Clowney had the same motor as JJ Watt, but he doesn't. Then I'd take him with #1 and take a couple of QB's in the 2nd through 7th round. The kid from Eastern Illinois is getting a lot of pub, Garrett Gilbert of SMU had a great Pro day and we could probably pick him up in the 3rd or 4th round, Derek Carr is highly thought of and if his bro David hadn't bombed here in Houston we'd be well served maybe to take him or the Eastern Illinois kid with the 1st pick of the 2nd round if available.

I did hear on ESPN radio somebody talking about the possibility that all of the top 3 QB's could slide to really late in the 1st round or event to the 2nd round.

As is the case with "what's his name"... .... Qbs who don't fit the pinpoint pocket passer (with some mobility inside the pocket ) mold are becoming less than desirable in the NFL.

If it aint Peyton it aint a Qb seems to be what they're saying.

Non-conventional is junk when it comes to playing NFL Qb.

That said Bortles does look like the highest Qb to go..... with Manziel last amongst the top 5.... I agree.

Maybe the Texans can appoint Matt Millen as the guest picker..... he's pretty good at taking the blame when making monumentally wasteful selections with high draft picks.
