Getting the new guy out to meet the folks! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/MR2nmGrYT_U" frameborder="0"></iframe>
There was a time when the Astro's would get on a bus and do a tour of Texas with some players and mangement. It's been a long time since they did that though. I think across the country college coaches will go to alumni events to talk about the team. It was at one of those events that Lane Kiffin called out Urban Meyer and then had to back down, and also Les Miles called out the entire Pac12 as soft on defense, and Steve Spurrier had any number of comments that pissed off his opponents. ND coaches have made the rounds of Alumni events as well, although for some reason Kelly has never made it to the Rockne Dinner in Chicago. But this is the first I've heard of a tour bus! Just think about it, back in the '50's Charlie Strong would have had to stay in a different hotel than the rest of his staff.
In the 50s, Charlie Strong would not have been the head coach at Texas, but your point is well taken.
I was thinking about the issues that I've read about the Dodgers having during Spring Training in Fla back in those days.
Good article on the culture changes at Texas under Charlie Strong. Charlie Strong I'm starting to like this guy.
