His troubles as a Pro sometimes make us forget that he was one the greatest college football players of this Century.

Yes Terry and as far as I am concerned as a college football fan he is a superstar and belongs in the College Hall of Fame.

I will never forget that winning TD drive against USC.

What is he doing these days?

Bill like many washed up and has beens he hasn't figured out that his career as an NFL QB is kaput, finished, done, etc. You might say that he has been his own worst enemy and that would be at least partly true. But I do wonder if he'd had a coach who believed in him and was willing to do what Harbaugh has done with Kapernick in San Francisco that he might have succeeded.

But none of that can detract from the fact that he was a magnificent college football player.

He scored a 6 on the Wonderlic Test. This means that he has the IQ of a wabbit. I can't imagine any scenario under which he would have succeeded in the NFL, unless they were going to use him as a goal post.

I would say Young's future prospects are not good.

Well Vince wasn't a total flop in the NFL....he was the Rookie of the Year, He did lead his team to the playoffs and he did play in a Pro Bowl. There was a flicker there, but he had too many demons to let it become a fire.

Here's a link to Wikipedia article about Vince Young. It contains the quote below about his Wonderlic test. I'm like Terry and don't understand why guys like Vince Young can't be successful in the NFL. It also boggles my mind how many of these guys go through the millions of dollars they get from being in the NFL and endorsements.

Well Vince Young did graduate from the Great University of Texas, albeit with a degree in Youth and Community Studies...what ever that is... :)

I found it.... I think he has a great future! :)

    Youth and Community Studies.

Hey it's a degree and an area where someone could contribute to society if they real went to work in that area.

Having said that just the fact that he graduated says something.

I am at a loss as to why players like Vince Young and Tim Tebow cannot be successful in the NFL. Certainly Young did enough during his stay in the NFL to think he could have caught up with someone. Probably more to the story who knows.

In Tebow's case I am convinced he could play in the NFL if he would change positions. However he is not under contract, though he could leave to play in the NFL, to the new SEC Network for the studio show. I think he may do quite well there.

By the way the game announcers for the SEC Network are Mushberger and Jesse Palmer. I probably misspelled Mushberger but I imagine you know who I mean.

Well I do agree job 1 is to get the degree, while it's nice to have one that has recruiters waiting for you with a good job offer like Accounting and Engineers generally have, but in the end the possession of a degree is the first hurdle for a lot of jobs.

But as far as his NFL career, Vince didn't always do himself a lot of favors and probably is now an offical "head case" to NFL GM's.
