Those "Go Pro" camera's that skiers, surfers, bikers, etc all can mount on themselves to video their adventures are making their way to the QB's helmet. The coaches can watch what the QB see's from the field level. That's supposed to be good, I guess. Will only be used in practice though. Camera's on Helmets
Terry, Ohio State is using the camera with Braxton Miller this spring, to get a feel while he can see on the field, while not actively participating in Spring practice due to surgery
Kelly mounted a camera on the QB's helmets one spring, I don't think he's done it again. I know every piece of data is important in some way, but I'm having a hard time that the helmet camera really makes any difference.
I think that the purpose of the camera is to see if the QB is making the right progression at looking at receivers and also looking off D backs. It could be a real aid if that is a concern.
I believe my nephew Brendan wore one of those last season for his high school team. It always seemed a bit much to me, because honestly, sometimes the best results have come from throwing to the wrong read but best match up. In a 4WR set, against tampa2 coverage, you can run 2 skinny post or flag routes with 2 WRs on the outside running go routes. The read is on the LB drop and safety coverage 9 times out of 10. That's fine. At the same time, if you're throwing to Randy Moss, the optimal read is to throw him the ball 10 times out of 10 until they use 3 guys and a butterfly net to cover him. In my opinion.
