I respectfully disagree with that statement....although you'll find no one grittier when the game is on the line than Eli.

Joel, no one with a brain can deny that Brady is one of the greatest QBs of all time. He's done numerous great things as a QB to earn that reputation. But it doesn't mean that you have to denigrate the other great QB of this generation to try to make your guy look better. Show some class. Show PM the respect he deserves.

Brady 0-2 vs Eli in Super Bowls, 1-2 vs Peyton in AFC Championship games, so 1-4 vs Mannings in championship games.

Terry I agree completely about Manning. I have always liked him and always will.

That doesn't translate to necessarily liking Denver though.

This Seahawks team was impressive and perhaps the best defense I have ever seen in a Super Bowl.

But, the unbeaten Dolphin team was the best ever. :)

Thesis: No AFC team could have beaten the Seahawks, San Francisco or maybe even Carolina in the Super Bowl. AFC defenses are just not up to NFC defenses.

I find it interesting that the Colts beat both SB teams early in the season. I conclude that the Seattle team in the SB was a completely different team from the one that the Colts beat. The Denver win came in a highly emotionally charged game. The Colts certainly have the potential to be a contender, but they need to shore up their defense and develop consistency on offense, a tall order in this highly competitive league.

P.S. FWIW, I was born in Seattle. I like everything about Seattle EXCEPT for Pete Carroll.

You were born in Seattle? I thought you were from N.J.?

Re: Seahawks. The woeful Texans had them down and beaten at Reliant and let them get away in the 4th qtr.

My Dad was employed by RCA as an engineer and was on loan to the Defense Dept. in 1944 during WWII to help man the radar installations on the west coast. He worked during an era when geographic transfers were the norm for upward mobility. I've lived in Seattle (18 mos.), Dallas (2.5 yrs.), St. Louis (4 yrs.), Chicago (4.5 yrs.), NJ (4.5 yrs.), then Indiana since 1961.

    TMI?

Sid - the Seattle of today is not the Seattle of 10-20 years ago. They aren't quite down the Marxist path that Chicago, Detroit, and LA are, but they're headed that way.
