I live within 45 minutes of Met Life It is 56 degrees and sunny. Weather will not be a factor. Incredibly, tomorrow we are expecting 4-6" of snow.
yes krebsie...this is Peyton weather again...the NFL lucked out..the snow is supposed to be an inch an hour 6 hours after the game ends!... by the way..is your son on "terror alert" today?
Seattle defense is the best Super Bowl defense I can remember in a long time. They are everywhere, closing fast on recievers, pushing back the Denver OL so that Manning has no chance. Pete Carroll might just be the best coach in the NFL right now.
Brady's legacy was secure no matter who won Joel. BTW, what's his legacy? He's no Joe Montana, 4 rings and a College Nat'l Championship...Greatest Ever!! Never lost a Super Bowl.
Seattle barely had 200yds passing, Lynch had less than 40 yds rushing. If you'd have told me those stats before the game I'd have said Denver was going to crush them. So much for stats!
After everything that happened, Peyton Manning kept stopping in the MetLife hallway and honoring requests for his time, no matter how fresh the wound, no matter how pronounced the pressure, no matter how desperately he just wanted to get on the bus, assume his customary place up front and get the hell out of Jersey. "The respect he always has for the fans, that's why I like him," Lopez said. "That's why I asked, that's his reputation. I like the way he keeps his emotions out of the public." No, he isn't the only player who would've told Steve Lopez to wait. He isn't the only player who would sign. He isn't the only one who knows how great he has it, even when things aren't so great. Yet after this game of all games, Peyton Manning was somehow no different than before. "You know, he's got the reputation for being a class act," Weisman said. "That's him. On a night like this [to sign], I mean, I appreciate it. I know. I understand. That's Peyton Manning." That was Peyton Manning, even on the worst of nights.
That's what I was thinking at half. If someone had told me Lynch had 11 attempts for 14 yards, his longest being 6 yards and five attempts being for no gain or a loss, PLUS Wilson was 9/15 for 94 yards, I'd have thought Denver was controlling the game. Of course, it was 22-0 by then and was about to get much worse.
I have no problems with Bennett saying they're the best ever, but I still put the 1985 Bears as the best I remember. Peyton = CLASS
Joel, Brady's legacy as the second best QB of his generation was never in doubt. Likewise, despite the SB result, Peyton's legacy as the best QB of his generation (record 5 times league MVP) is secure.
I agree.... I agree also that when healthy.... which is sometimes so seldom.... Percy Harvin is a marvel to watch. I saw his career stats recently while he was at Florida and he rushed for 9.5 yards per carry on 194 attempts for 19 Tds .... and he carried the ball at UF much like he did yesterday on designed runs instead of end arounds. Man we could use a guy like that right now on our moribund offense.
MVP means nothing....winning 3 Rings (and losing 2 others by 2 hail Mary's is what counts). winning in playoffs counts . throwing TD passes to grab records when you are up by 30 points is meaningless. Brady will play 3 more years..Pats are 3 players away from getting him 2 more rings. Gronk will be back..that leaves 2 more. Lets not forget the 6 starters who were on IR most of season. Injuries are part of the game you say????? They sure are!
You heard it here first Joel....Brady will never win another Super Bowl Ring...he's no Joe Montana!
even if manning won last night ( instead of getting slaughtered), he would be well behind Brady. Imagine what this loss does to him!!
