California Elementary School Forces First-Grader To Stop Her Presentation After She Cites Bible Verse, “Stop Right There! Go Take Your Seat!”…

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — The family of a Temecula Valley first-grader claims their child was prevented from talking about the Bible during a class presentation on Christmas, according to attorneys.

The allegations stem from an incident on Dec. 18 after a teacher asked first grade students at Helen Hunt-Jackson Elementary School in Temecula to find something at home that
represents a family Christmas tradition and share it with the class, according to Advocates for Faith & Freedom, a Murrieta-based nonprofit law firm.

In response to the assignment, student Brynn Williams took the “Star of Bethlehem” ornament from the top of her family’s Christmas tree “to represent her family’s tradition of remembering why Christmas is celebrated,” and worked diligently on a one-minute presentation in order to explain to the class that her family’s tradition is to remember the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas time, attorneys said.

The following day, attorneys say Brynn began her presentation with the following statement: “Our Christmas tradition is to put a star on top of our tree. The star is named the Star of Bethlehem. The 3 kings followed the star to find baby Jesus, the Savior of the world. John…”

According to attorneys, at that point during the presentation, Brynn’s teacher said, “Stop right there! Go take your seat!” and Brynn was not allowed to finish her presentation, which included reciting a Bible verse from the Gospel of John, John 3:16.

Brynn was the only student not allowed to finish her one-minute presentation, attorneys said. After Brynn took her seat, the teacher allegedly explained to Brynn in front of all the other students that she was not allowed to talk about the Bible or share its verses, according to attorneys.

okay, allow the grinch here to interject.

First of all...this is a trap.
You dig beneath the surface and I'm going to bet you find a fairly agenda driven family who likes to ram their faith down other people's throats.

We did these things as kids and I don't remember one kid EVER mentioning Jesus, or their religion, or bible passages. A good many might have mentioned something about going to church with family, or something quick like that.. but it almost always had to do with family, presents, meals, traditions like caroling (does anyone do that anymore?) and things like that.

    That being said........

The absolute intolerance shown the to rest of America by the secular left is right on the cusp of being a full fledged persecution.

You come to Alabama, and a day like this when my son was little is literally like militant Jesus bible camp.

We have one extreme poking the other, and nowhere to be found is a measure of reason among anyone. It's ridiculous.

San Francisco May Hand Out Free Crack Pipes To Prevent Spread Of HIV/AIDS

    Marion Barry must be moving.

    Via CBS:

Brows were raised and eyes rolled back when needle exchange programs were first implemented to stop the spread of disease. Giving away free and clean syringes to heroin users seemed preposterous to many. Now it is a common practice and almost universally accepted as a means to prevent the spread of HIV. Could the same happen with free crack pipes?

The city of San Francisco may examine the idea, said Tracey Packer, the director of community health equity for the San Francisco Dept. of Public Health, who oversees the city’s HIV prevention efforts.

“It is inaccurate to say we are ‘considering’ the program,” said Packer. “We are at the exploration point. We are looking at data and information.”

Crack pipe distribution programs have been successful in Canada, said Laura Thomas, a member of the HIV Health Services Planning Council (HPPC), the group that recently suggested San Francisco consider a similar program.

Who would even think of something like this?

    http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2014/01/24/2-south-jersey-churches-vandalized-overnight/

VINELAND, NJ (CBS) — Police in Vineland are searching for the suspects who vandalized statues outside two churches overnight.
According to the Vineland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Sacred Heart Church at 922 E Landis Avenue for reported criminal mischief. An investigation revealed that sometime during the night, the suspects had vandalized several religious statues on church property.
The vandals hacked off the head of a statue of the Virgin Mary. In addition, the vandals also chopped a statue of Joseph in half.
A few hours later, officers were dispatched to St. Francis of Assisi Church at 23 W Chestnut Avenue for the same incident. A subsequent investigation revealed statues at this church had been damaged in the same manner as the ones at Sacred Heart.

That was probably the only Catholic church in Alabama. Why don't they try that same stunt in East Los Angeles at the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe? You know the answer: the locals would Guadalupe their arses...

Someone who needs to understand what the statues on the church property represent a little more deeply.

Corey's article makes you want throw your hands up in despair because these so called Christians are who the media wants to represent to the world as mainstream in the Christian world.

Nah, it's far from the only Catholic Church in Alabama. You seem to forget that the crazy Catholic channel that's on your cable lineup right now is broadcast in Cullman, Alabama.

The stone that was shattered was over a century old. They did this in the new Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. They had moved from the very old St Anne's. Carson went to school there back then. Anyway, Catholics aren't real popular here in Alabama but there are more than you'd think.

We have some crazy ass zealots here though. (of all denominations). East LA would be a walk in the park. Hell, they can't even handle the PC police of Scientology or the Hollywood agnostics.

If you've ever seen the movie "Red State" (which I'd highly recommend), we have an abundance of bat **** crazy zealots. They're dangerous.

California Libs Push Bill To Redefine Consensual Sex As Rape…

One of those crazy feminists arguments that all sex is rape.

    Via Liberty Unyielding:

How does classifying most consensual sex as rape help rape victims? As a lawyer who has handled rape and sexual harassment cases, I have no idea, but this radical result is what some want to happen in California. In endorsing a bill in the California legislature that would require “affirmative consent” before sex can occur on campus, the editorial boards of the Sacramento and Fresno Bee and the Daily Californian advocated that sex be treated as “sexual assault” unless the participants discuss it “out loud” before sex, and “demonstrate they obtained verbal ‘affirmative consent’ before engaging in sexual activity.” Never mind that consent to most sex is non-verbal, and that rape has historically been understood to be an act against someone’s will, rather than simply a non-violent act that they did not consent to in advance. Perhaps in response to the bill, the University of California, on February 25, adopted a policy requiring affirmative consent not just to sex, but to every form of “physical sexual activity” engaged in. [...]

The affirmative-consent bill, Senate Bill 967, does not explicitly require verbal permission to demonstrate consent, although it warns that “relying solely on nonverbal communication can lead to misunderstanding.” But supporters of the bill are very clear about their desire to require verbal discussion or haggling prior to sex. The Fresno Bee praised the bill because “it adopts in campus disciplinary cases the ‘affirmative consent standard,’ which means that ‘yes’ only means ‘yes’ if it is said out loud.” The Daily Californian declared that “the proposal’s requirement that defendants in a sexual assault case demonstrate they obtained verbal ‘affirmative consent’ before engaging in sexual activity makes SB 967 a step in the right direction.” Since most couples have engaged in sex without “verbal” consent, supporters of the bill are effectively redefining most people, and most happily-married couples, as rapists. By demanding verbal discussion before sex, they are also meddling in people’s sex lives in a prurient fashion.
