When Bobby Knight was at Indiana, he hired assistant coaches who were known as.very good technical coaches but had been fired from prior head coaching jobs due to violating NCAA rules. Norm Ellenberger is one guy whose name I still recall.

Like Knight, I suspect Saban will be able to harvest the technical skills that Kiffen has and will intimidate Kiffen by the force of personality to keep the darker side of his character under total confinement.

For Kiffen, the opportunity provides him the ability to rehabilitate his piss poor public image. If he does well at Alabama and avoids doing anything that embarrasses the school, he likely will be given the chance to be a head coach at a major college. Without this opportunity and given his flame out at USC, no major school would touch him for in contrast to Petrino, Kiffen does not have a past track record of success that might cause an AD to take a walk on the wild side and hire him.

    kp...

I have no idea what you are taking about.
Of course... I have a period of about 5 years that apparently I have no memory of.

Oh well... getting older is a terrible thing.

    :p

Well that was short lived...the Eddie O to Alabama deal that is...it turns out that Saban hired Bo Davis from Texas DL coach and a guy who just a week ago was announced as the new USC DL coach. He's from the south and told Sark it was a family matter going back to the South.

Looks like a little less fun for Corey O.

I know it's a joke. I'm saying there are nut jobs who really do believe (maybe not in the underground compound, maybe....) but that Saban does only like to use 'certain types' of QBs that are a mirror of one another.

Now, you and I both know that's nonsense. McCarron is a very good QB and I still think he may do well in the NFL. That kid who transferred to Virginia, Simms?, was NOTHING like Alabama has suited up since Zow and he was a much bigger/faster/stronger version of Zow.

I thought the parody was well written and good fun. I was just pointing out there are idiots who believe such a thing.
