ND <r>ACC, ACC, ACC, ACC!!!. actually I could really care less about FSU but....this SEC string of BCS championships is OVER!!!! <br/> <br/> Good Game. <E></E> <E></E> <E></E> <E></E></r>
I'm quite certain that I've become a much more knowledgeable football fan since living here. You get to see a high caliber of football, and not give one rat's ass about which team wins. I think you'll find this beneficial JOCO.
Certainly one of the better recent BCS games from a fans standpoint. Both teams were pretty evenly matched and from a statistical analysis as well. The 100 yard kickoff for FSU was the turning point in my opinion.
Nice to see our ACC step brothers pull the game out. Most of all it may (probably not) quiet some of the insufferable fans of their opponents conference. Hard to believe all that noise can come from fans of a conference that didn't win one BCS game.
ACC... ACC.... really? FSU stormed through the ACC.... killed the second best team at their place in Death Valley. Auburn last night surprised the hell out of me by being so damned competitive and almost pulling it off..... proving to me anyways that the SEC was indeed a tough out. The final drive and win was more a tribute and a hats off to a fine team in Florida State with great athletes and good coaching than it was any sort of mandate on the ACC.
ACC Brothers.....[GRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN]....... Step brothers is a little better.... still ridiculous....BIG territory....but noooooooooo.....fall under the ACC....joke I tell you...BIG JOKE......
So much butt hurt, Dave. Any 'conference' support you see from ND fans regarding football is tongue in cheek. But you just can't have anything ever being talked about with the SEC in the same breath... I don't blame you, really. I blame the BCS and the media's disingenuous coverage of the game. People buy into this nonsense. It doesn't cheapen what the SEC has done in the BCS title game. That was beyond impressive. A stretch for the ages and history books. But I'm glad to see this chapter get closed anda new one started. I'm quite sure the initial versions of the Playoff will be some shitty, twisted, SEC influenced version of an expanded BCS but in time we will get to where we need to be... 8 teams.
Hey... you didn't see the same game I did if you were not surprised at the level of play shown by Auburn last night. Hell I thought the SEC was truly down and would be shown up in the bowls.....didn't happen. I though the SEC Champ this year was weak... had some serious flaws that FSU would pounce on and that they would embarass Auburn... ( yes... I really did think that ).... didn't happen. So as a whole I'm still waiting for the SEC as a conference to slip on the national stage because so far it hasn't happened.
There was nothing shocking about what happened last night if you've been paying attention. Auburn has played with incredible heart and chemistry for the past 2 months. They are playing within their system at 100%. That's a dangerous animal no matter what team, conference or level of play you're talking about. I thought FSU was clearly a better team and it would show in the end. My only concern was that Auburn would get red hot, the Gus Bus would come up with some of his goofy ass plays and they'd steal one at the end. Instead, they came out that way and opened up a nice lead. FSU hammered away until they could take the lead back.
Well the SEC win streak is over, but the streak of appearances in the championship game is still intact. I think you will see one or more teams from the SEC in the 4 game playoff next season. Hopefully the Gators come back to a competitive status.
Oh that's all anyone can talk about is that the SEC must have 'AT LEAST' 2 teams in the upcoming 4 team playoff. I have to admit, I was kinda surprised last night. Checking my Facebook feed, the Auburn fans weren't anywhere near as obnoxious as they are normally. They were quite positive, sad understandably, but upbeat about the future. I was impressed. The other half of my feed was, well.. there's a reason I'm still trolling those poor bastards. One day they'll understand. But back on point, I really hope the further we get away from this god damned BCS, the further we get away from entitlements and onto a true year to year process for selecting a champion. The BCS kept exactly one promise that it made, and even that was a half-assed. Onto better days!
Excuse me Corey but I did not say the SEC would have two teams next year. I said one OR more. Big difference. But I will say that if the system were in play this year the SEC would have had 2 teams, Auburn and Alabama. They way the seeding would have worked they likely would have met in round one. Seems Bama doesn't play as well if the don't win the SEC so I don't know how that rematch would have come about. The entitlement comment just isn't very accurate usually then teams in the final pretty well deserved it.
