So MSU fans haven't been to a Rose Bowl in a long time...was there a brisk business in the Maps to the Homes of the Stars? :)

Homes of the Stars is kind of dated. What you want to do is see 875 Bundy in Brentwood. Hint: it's the Heisman House West. :)

Stanford looks to be playing not to lose while State is playing aggressive... 17-17 tie right now but I see State finishing stronger than Stanford.

Shaw is SO predictable in his play calling.
That might work against a lighter defense, but MSU is fearlessly charging into the breach on first and second down... and Gafney keeps being fed to the lions.

Nice call Shaw... 4th and one... fullback dive.
    NO GAIN.
I guess some dogs can't learn from 58 minutes of football...

    Good for MSU!
They sure did come to play!

Sparty's D dominated Stanford since the 2nd quarter. Dantonio has done a remarkable job.

This Sparty team is like Rocky. If you saw the OSU game and this game it was the same. They took the opponent's best shot then dominated the last part of the game. Meanwhile in Ann Arbor, big brother is so jealous. :)

I think many in AA are hoping that Dantonio chooses big bundles of Longhorn green over Sparty green.

My sense though is that he will stay put in EL until he retires and that he will continue to stick Hart's words up our ass for a few more years.

Guess the other question is whether Penn State takes a hard look at hiring MSU's DC.

???? Did I miss that? Who is Hart and what did he say?

Go Sparty! Only loss was to ND.

I could bitch about Shaw's play calling but that would be detracting from the great job done by a very good Michigan State team.

    Also, screw Stanford.

Sid, At a post game press conference after Michigan’s come-from-behind 28-24 win in East Lansing in 2007, Mike Hart, our star running back, said, “sometimes it’s just like when you’re playing your little brother in basketball. You let him get a lead and let him get excited, but then you take it back from him.”

That classless jibe royally pissed off Dantonio and Spartan fans. Since then, MSU has beaten M in 5 out of the 6 meetings and Hart's "little brother" remark is perceived as a "curse of the Bambino" type thing by some M fans such as me.

Bobda, now that you remind me, I recall the comment, but because it was between the two Michigan teams, I quickly forgot it. I realize from your depiction that it is an ongoing source of motivation. Thanks for the history lesson. :)

I'll say it.... defense wins championships and MSU can play some friggin defense.

Good enough to stymie a high flying FSU offense?

Too bad we'll never know but thankfully next year we wouldn't have to just wonder about it.

I wonder what it will take for Sparty to shed the "little brother" image with UM? They still can't go after the top 5* players like UM can, even beating them a bunch under Dantonio. Can they ever win enough to step up to where they are a recruiting power?

Currently Rivals has them at #31 and they have only 2 players rated at 4* players and the rest are 3 stars or lower. Michigan has 7, and Alabama has 16.

Dantonio's record at UM is better than Nick Saban's as well. Nick never went to a Rose Bowl, never won a conference championship either.
