He will be an analyst employed by ESPN and working on the new SEC Network. Good for him. I predict that his presence in the studio or the booth will have a positive impact on viewership. http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/10216946/tim-tebow-joins-espn-analyst-sec-network
I still think I can play LB at ND. They just nver gave me the chance to prove myself. Stop dreaming = stop living.
Probably not passing records.... but probably would have led his team to the playoffs and won a game or two once there
Hey Kp.... I have swallowed the bitter pill on Manning. He's phenomenal.... an aberration... a true genius at Qb. But that doesn't take away my belief at the same time that Tim Tebow is also a winner and was capable of winning with Denver and was personally responsible for inspiring a bunch of losers to become a bunch of winners...which they certainly are today under PM's guidance . Now.... let's see them do it in the grit of playoffs.... I think Manning deserves it and I hope he wins the Super Bowl to top off his ultra-fine career.
MCG, Tebow has shown nothing in his pro career that would compare with the record setting season Manning has had. I think the owners and coaches in the NFL have voted on this matter too.
Kp... I have never never said Tebow compares to Manning in passing skills. I have pointed out that at Denver... in a sane offensive environment and handed the reins of a losing team Tebow was very highly productive in running and passing yardage, in getting first downs and moving the team at critical times and as a result he engineered a lot of wins....because he is a winner above all else. NFL types just can't embrace that....can't get over the visual practice analysis and others just buy into the negative of that instead of the intangibles he brings. But again... PM has fully convinced me of his NFL Qb skills and I think not even the staunchest Gator fan would question the move by Elway at this juncture to jettison TT in favor of PM.
I know Dave but why is every NFL team passing on Tebow? Do you really think they are all wrong? Are they ALL that bad at evaluating players? Would they all pass on him if he is such a sure fire cinch at playing QB in the pros. He is a great guy and was a GREAT college qb. Sometimes that has to be enough. 8)
I think there are many more NFL caliber Qbs coming out of college or already in the NFL who won't get a coach or GM fired for drafting or signing them. They don't have the PR circus that Tebow has had... especially in NY and they don't have the pre-qualified "stamp of disapproval" that Tebow has plus there has to be an offense built around his skills. It's more of a gamble because of all the hoopla and so far no one is secure enough in their NFL jobs to roll the dice. I can think of a couple of teams that could use a guy that just wins.... Detroit? Tampa? Jax? Miami? Here is a wild strategy idea.... trade Stafford in Detroit for a couple of first rounders and stick in Tebow to throw to Bush, Johnson etc. and run as he needs to. Stafford is one of those great on talent.... sure looks like the franchise Qb etc. and yet he loses a lot of games at crunch time instead of making winning plays. "The Detroit Lions threw away control of the NFC North race. Detroit (7-7) dropped four of its last five games in large part because of 18 turnovers, including Matthew Stafford’s 10 interceptions and two fumbles." Heck what do I know.... I thought winning games and going to to the playoffs and winning once there were the main goals.
Kp if what they require needs to be a cookie cutter on paper NFL Qb they don't have one in Tebow. They have a Matt Stafford for that. If they want a rough edged winner who can jam it in there on 3rd and 2 for a first down in a critical part of the game there is Tebow. Apparently cookie cutter style points is the way they prefer regardless of the winning factor. Hey... does anybody remember Joe Kapp? Again...there is probably not a Gator fan out there that thinks Elway made a mistake with Manning over Tebow. But there's only a handful of Manning's in the NFL and there's a bunch of teams with losing records not in the playoffs.
The next level....the lower one....hey Dave....exactly what was your experience with mescaline like?....
Well I am glad for Tebow and think he will do a fine job. He does have an out in the contract if he makes an NFL team. Unless he is willing to change position that will likely not happen. T
