Everytime I pick up a paper or read a sports release teams are suspending players for their bowl game. Texas has 3 players they suspended, ND now has 2, I think Nebraska has 3, Michigan State has a starter suspended, hard to think of a other than the 2 in the Champ game who hasn't supsended somebody. Mich OT Lewan got in a fight recently outside a bar and I think he broke some kids jaw, not sure if he's been suspended though.
Went to a nice family dinner at a local steak house. 1 nephew, 2 nieces and their significant others...all texted during dinner. So I got out my smartphone and checked the Skybox...no activity!
Pinstripe Bowl one of only 2 non-BCS bowls to sell out. I'm sure that is why they wanted Notre Dame and Rutgers. Houston Cougar fans here told me they were miffed that they didn't get the invite to play the Irish. I asked them if they would have gone, nope was the answer but would have watched on the tube!
Irish up 13 with a little over 2 minutes left. Meanwhile in Michigan, Gipper prepares for the off-season.
ND <t>Now how could I have ever thought this would be an easy game? Right. Should have known after the way this season went. It was a win and probably the stats will be overwhelming in ND's favor but still.....

Everett Golson get you butt back in class and get ready for 2014.

Tommy Rees did the best he could but this game would have been a runaway with EG at QB.

Goodbye Tommy, I'm sure you will be successful at whatever you do in life.

Go Irish!!!</t>
Gip is in a cab heading to O'Hare airport. Watched the game in a nice ND Bar called Racine Plumbing. Managed to stay awake for most of the game.
I fully support the coach's decision to suspend the two players. As far as the game, it's over. We won. 'Nuff said.
I attended a ND vs. Syracuse game there (old stadium) in 1963 over Thanksgiving weekend. It was a student trip by train during my sophomore year.
