Aggie troll factor is off the charts these days. They are having a lot of fun in the SEC.

The page in the airport is classic. Well Terry, the national media has Mack out and heavy rumors of Saban in at Texas, so I guess that means it has gone "viral". Reports here are still that Saban is not leaving but supposedly he is getting a raise ($7M/yr). I know it is heresy but that is too much money for a college football coach. That money could help solve a lot of problems in this state. If another school wants to outbid that, then I say we hold a farewell tour around the state, tell Nick thank you for the run and have a reality check. I don't think that will happen though. :)

You know... this is a win for us either way.
If Saban stays, Terry's bunch has a LOT of egg on their faces (which Aggies will quietly ignore ;-) ).
If Saban moves to Austin... then we have to recruit against him as we do now... but NOT play against his teams!

    :p

Saban and Mack are reported to be friends. As long as Mack is the coach at UT nothing will be revealed. But if and when Mack steps down "look out Loretta!"

Since the Bowl Season is also the finishing kick for recruiting. I thought I'd paste these guys opinion of the top schools for recruiting. Nothing surprising here...

    1. Texas
    2. Ohio State
    3. LSU
    4. Georgia
    5. USC
    6. Fla
    7. FSU
    8. Alabama
    9. Notre Dame
    10. Penn State

Actually it is surprising that Michigan is not in the top 10 and it is surprising to me at least that this guy has Georgia ahead of FSU and UF. And to be honest I was a little surprised at Penn State being considered a Top 10 school.

They were up in the 50s, but one of their 4* recruits switched to USC, one each of their 4* and 3* are waffling (the 4* may end up at ASU if they want him, or Arizona) and they haven't picked up anyone to replace them.

Sark was selling a lot of unknown and promise. He has the tradition there to fall back on, but there was uncertainty that he could win. The new coach won't be selling that. I think his first year could be weak in recruiting, but I don't see subsequent years suffering with Peterson there. He'll sell the hell out of that UW QB tradition. I wonder if he'd bring Florida's OC with him now that he's on the market? If the defense can be shored up, they could make some waves.

As for the 64 team bracket, I have ND vs UCLA in the Midwest. Alabama vs Baylor in the West. Oregon and LSU in the South. Florida State and South Carolina in the East. I think you could swap Arizona State for SCAR. Either way.

    Terry,

That's a great graphic :) I don't think it matches the UW story, but it's great!

I'm scratching my head over this one...

Baker Mayfield who did not have hardly any scholarship offers coming out of HS after a good career at Lake Travis HS in Austin where he won a state championship, has asked for a release from Texas Tech.

Now Baker was a walkon at Texas Tech and due to an injury to projected starter Michael Brewer early, was put into competition with another true freshman QB who actually had a scholarship. He ended up starting the opener and only lost the job to injury, he got it back and finished the season as the starter...but he doesn't have a scholarship and is still a walkon. Now Michael Brewer is fully healthy and Kingsbury has named him the starter for the bowl game and Mayfield has hurted feelings and wants out.

When was the last time a walkon got pissed because he wasn't the starter and asked for his release so he could transfer?

If he's a walk-on, why does he need a release? Are you sure he's not on scholarship?

Nope he has to get a release, does seem a bit odd but from the ESPN article it says he has to get a release and he'll have to sit out a year. I guess if he didn't somewhere somebody would use abuse that rule.
