I have good news/bad news about one of our prominent lurkers: Irish Dave Francis, who many of you have previously met at Notre Dame football games. The bad news is that he won't be able to make it to this year's ND-UCLA game, so we lost one of our best BBQ chefs. The good news is, our friend Kevin Gross has resigned to move on to higher levels and Dave has been named as the new head baseball coach at Claremont High School. This has been a goal of his for three decades and now he has his own program and its a pretty darn good one at that. Congrats Dave! ...........DD PS. Dave is also the father of part-time Skybox poster "High Tower."
Congrats to IrishDave. He's been a great addition to our tailgating, best of luck to him in the new position. But just like in anyother sport, the next guy just steps up....JO'Co!!! No DodgerDogs either!! Terry
Nope. I'm happy just teaching. This is the second year that I haven't coached and I'm having a blast... Of my old coaching staff, Dave is now a head coach and my pitching coach, Bob Brown, is an umpire in the Cape Cod League and living on Martha's Vineyard. We all got what we always wanted. The good guys won... ..............DD
Dog, Please give Dave my very best. I'm disappointed that he won't be there. I was looking forward to talkng baseball with him. I don't have tickets, but I think I'm going to come over from the lake for the Friday night festivities at MBC or wherever you are gathering.
Congratulations to Irish Dave my he win many championships. And it's really great when the good guys win so congratultions to all three good guys!
