No need for a new topic for this baseball announcement: The Reds have hired Bryan Price as their new manager. He was the team's pitching coach.
I'm not going to comment on Leyland other than to say his 1-8 record in the World Series with Detroit speaks for itself. Speculation about the new coach. Some talk about Kirk Gibson however, he has apparently indicated that he wants to stay in Phoenix. Most interesting "candidate" is a good friend of Leyland and Dave Dombrowski Tiger's GM, Tony Larussa. Probably coincidence but he was in town last week (a friend was behind him at airport security.) I think he's presently working for MLB and was probably in town as part of his job and not to meet with the Tigers.
