Lot of drama surrounding this game, but not much of it between the sidelines. Everybody expects OU to hammer the Longhorns without much trouble. We have a rag arm/noodle arm QB in Case McCoy and a suspect defense that had a hard time with Iowa State. So another massacre is expected by most Texas fans.

The Drama is the goings on around the program. It was revealed this week that the Athletic Dept has people watching all the internet websites and reporting back to Deloss Dodds what people are saying on them. Even on supposed private invitation only websites. Paranoid much? A big bruha broke out regarding Bill Hicks, who is a UT grad and brother of former Board of Regents members Tom and Steve who are big time power brokers. Bill posted some stuff on a private board which a UT staffer had infiltrated and his post was copied and forwarded to the higher ups (Dodds). Bill found out and of course is pissed, that's when it became apparent that the Ath. Dept was essentially spying on the fans. Paranoid much?

Of course Mack is reported everywhere to have been told he can go out with a parade or in a pine box it's his choice. He's not happy, still thinks he can turn it around and force them to keep him. But it's supposedly not going to happen, he's done. They are going to hire a new AD probably before the date that Dodds gave that he will work through (Next Summer) and a new football coach. They still will go after Saban with a big money deal and he gets a blank check to hire his staff. After that they have a list that includes Jim Strong, Will Muschamp and Art Briles. We'll see, I doubt Muschamp or Saban come, Briles would be foolish to stay at Baylor if Texas comes calling.

With all the turmoil around the program you have to wonder if the team and the coaches can even focus on getting ready to play Oklahoma.

Personally I hope the can hire Jim Strong, great coach, has a ton of experience with big time programs at ND, So.Carolina, Fla, working under guys like Lou Holtz and Urban Meyer and Greg Mattison (his DCoord twice). He's ready to move up. Now he swore unyielding loyalty to Louisville last year, but Texas will test that with a high dollar offer that I doubt Louisville can match if it comes down to that.

Oh yeah the football game...we've got no hope, don't let your young children watch the game and Mack will need to have extra depends handy on Saturday.

Not a chance that I'll let this opportunity pass by to enjoy, what has become an annual tradition, the annual thumping of tu with my son for the first time.

    Not so fast my friend.
While the boys in orange are not terribly good, and are not terribly well coached... if you've seen a few of the Paperclip's games, you know they aren't either.
Bell is NOT a good QB I'd stack the line and FORCE him to beat you with good throws. I doubt he can do it for long sustained drives.

I assume you are talking about Charlie Strong?
    He'd be a good hire.
Don't be so sure Louisville won't pony up serious cash. They are going to the ACC, and do have Pappa John to back their spending.
Not saying you can't get him, but you'll probably have to offer more than Mack is getting to win the bidding war.

Yeah Charlie Strong...Jim Strong coached at ND and was the head coach at UNLV at one time.

But don't underestimate our defenses ability to let them run all over us. I grant you that Bell, at least in the ND game, was not a big threat to complete the ball down the field. But he gets the ball out fast on the short routes and they have good WR's/RB's.

Texas has no showed so many times recently in this game when they should have beaten OU.... and I know this OU team isn't worth a **** (I'm still mad about the ND game, let me express my anger in a healthy manner) :)

If Texas shows up with hat amount of cattle in lieu of hat, they got a shot in this thing. If Mac gets crushed in this game, he should have to walk back to Austin an unemployed man. I'm not even kidding.

This is the worst Oklahoma team since the 6-6 club in Stoops' first year..

Texas Student Section did not sell out, that is the first time ever for an OU game in Dallas.

Case McCoy, he of the rag/noodle arm..says he's ready, I like his attitude. Maybe he can pull it off and be the man he dreams of being.

Seriously. Mack needs to get Kiffin'ed if they no show for this. It doesn't matter if the students don't show. The writing is on the wall. It's now or never for Mack.

Well I didn't see that coming. So as Kes and I were talking after the game...What if Mack wins out? Most Texas people have the rail cut, the tar warmed up and the chickens plucked....can they reverse course and have a parade instead? :)

Well if Case takes many more hits like this he might not finish the season upright.

Oh and it's been so long since Texas players did a gatorade bath of their head coach that they forgot you should get so close that you almost hit him with the bucket.
