Tennessee has a week off to prepare for the Gamecocks to come to Neyland. Peterman was scheduled to be out for approximately 4 weeks with the broken hand in the Florida game. The South Carolina game is the 4 week mark in his recovery. I expect him to sit out this game due to lost practice reps. I would rather not see him come back until the Vandy game. Vandy is not the patsy of old but they will not be as tough as road games at Bama or Missouri, or a home game with Auburn. Go Vols!
Well Javedon Clowney won't be playing...he's too tired. Seriously, have you read Spurriers comments? If Clowney "wants to play, we will welcome him to come play for the team if he wants," Spurrier said after the game. "But if he doesn't want to play, he doesn't have to play. Simple as that."
That's two weeks away... However, this game is usually played on or around Haloween. All orange, sometimes with black outline for the numbers, has been the recipe for the South carolina game. This year, it is a week early so who knows. The games closest to Halloween are both road games. Sounds like South Carolina is the game to wear them. Who knows though... Smokey Gray might make a comeback.
Clowney has ridden one missed block to "Paul Bunyan " stature. I think he is showing that he is really a dog.
I remember when Jimmy Johnson was coach of the Canes and we played on Halloween night and wore all orange for the first time. JJ commented afterwards that as long as he was coach at Miami he would never allow his team to look like stuffed pumpkins running up and down the field....
Tom I see that the VaTech/Tenn game in a couple of years is going to be played at the racetrack in Bristol. It's on the highway to Blacksburg. You guys could set an attendance record. I do wonder what they are going to do with all the structures in the what I assume will be the playing surface.
That game with Va Tech at Bristol will set attendance records. There will need to be a lot of work done to accommodate the field. Very interesting.
I'm sure they have a plan. The owners of Bristol have been trying to get a football game scheduled there since before 2000. May have been way before 2000.
This will be interesting. They are going to have to gut everything in the middle. At the same time, if you look at where and how the track sits, you have room for even MORE people than the venue currently seats. This could be fun.
New regulation for things you can bring into this game: Up to a 64" long telescope SLR Cameras with up to 1000mm lenses Electronic listening dish to be able to hear the officials
You can't be any further from the field than the upper reaches of Cowboy Stadium. Of course they have a Gigantic Jumbotron that allows people to see what is going on!
Back to Tennessee vs. South Carolina: Reports from the Knoxville News Sentinel say that Clowney will not play against Tennessee. From a subscription only site: John Adams: Playing against Vols would be too risky for Jadeveon Clowney
By the article you could tell that John Adams thinks the same way of him. The article is slanted toward Clowney getting something else hurt/broke against the Vols.
OK... it is officially Fried Chicken week. Spurrier... your cocks are in for a beating!
