As the GOP led house angles to pass a bill that would deface Obama ( their sole goal in life it seems..... not good governance ).... it is refreshing to read a link provided by what seems to be a non-biased organization trying to genuinely enlighten us to ... gasp..... the truth!!! http://news.msn.com/us/fact-check-the-true-false-and-overblown-on-obamacare Obama is both right.... and wrong..... in this rundown of exactly how Obamacare will impact Americans.
Keep in mind Warren Buffet is quoted in the link below.....not Nancy Pelosi, etc.: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/warren-buffett-debt-ceiling-fight-would-be-damn-dumb-4B11210658?ocid=msnhp&pos=4 "Buffett said he sees health-care costs as a "huge problem for the country … but that's not the fault of Obamacare," because the spending trends have been in place for decades. "Health-care costs in this country are a tapeworm of American business," he continued. "Overall, the economy has a 17 percent-plus of GDP going to health-care costs."
Buffett is so filthy rich that he can afford to play the role of benevolence now. When you have over $50 bil you are bullet proof. Its guys like us that take it up the stern.
I believe that much of that is true (both posts). I have always said that health care costs are the problem that needs reigned in...not whatever stupid creative complicated method we come up with to spread the bill around. But you lost me when you said "what seems to be a non-biased organization". Right or wrong, there is plenty of controversy about factcheck.org and their leanings.
Hold the f*ck up.... Have you not caught the act of the Democrats? They blamed Bush for everything for 8 years and that isn't when they were opposing him on everything and anything. Now the man is gone, they are still blaming him. I can't possibly address any one thing you tried to say, because you jumped the shark with such a titanic amount of ******** that really had nothing to do with the issue right off the bat. I know this is about Obamacare, so let's jump back on the issue. I recently applied at Walmart (not even kidding). Once again, I'm looking for anything and the people who interview me insist that I should be managing the place based upon my resume... (and they aren't hiring for manager).. but I always do my checking into every company I apply to.. (even McDonalds and Burger King). I am always prepared for the interview.. always. My Walmart interview left me (I dominated it btw) a little off-center. I had my facts wrong and knew it about 2 minutes in. I rushed home to check it. Walmart isn't hiring regular employees anymore. They are only hiring temps. Now, I am sure you can get all tin foil hat and blame Walmart, rather than blame the people who wrote the law..that's just what you do, but you really need to take a good long hard look at this. I'll join you on the USS Tinfoil and take that space journey with you. Maybe it really is all by design.. some grand social engineering experiment to keep us down.. but let me ask you, why not look in the other direction? Who passed the law? Who wrote the law? Who opposed the law? Who supported the law? Oh.. and in case anyone doubts anything I've said, I was surprised to find out this has been going on for quite some time. That's a pretty solid read. http://www.forbes.com/sites/lauraheller/2013/06/14/obamacare-is-turning-walmart-workers-into-temps/
here's more for you. I average about 79 applications a week. From that, I am averaging about 1 to 2 interviews a week. Roughly 8:1 or 4:1 ratio depending. In the past 2 weeks, I've had 5 interviews as I am literally out of money and pulling into the next few weeks on fumes. (even social welfare programs here are shutting down or not offering services because they've run out of money) Companies are increasingly not willing to schedule delays or payment programs (where they always have in previous years)...We have this huge bureaucracy of social welfare programs and community action type of programs that are running fully staffed, 40hr a week employment themselves.. but not actually offering any services because they ran out of money from the Fed. As someone in our local PD mentioned last week at the ball field.. nothing has done more to increase the crime rate in our city than the unreasonable policies of our local utility company. (who recently cut off their 10 to 20 day payment programs and now require a 5 day window for payment before cutting of services.) The Utility Company runs around saying their program works better with the new hard deadline because more people are paying their bill quicker. The PD will be the first to tell you that they are now arresting kids committing petty crimes (and some not-so-petty) in an attempt to get money to pay their bills..... Anyway, back to the interviews.. every single one of them was for a part-time job. They don't advertise it as a part-time job. It appears it's the new wave of the future.. part-time employment with low wages for everyone.. and the burden of buying and supplying insurance now squarely on you.. comrade. So please, tell me all about how all of this is Bush's fault? And here's another article (huffpo-reuters since you automatically discount places such as fox), that fully documents these 'awesome new changes' in the work force.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/21/part-time-job-creation_n_3788365.html
Hey, now that I have a job but my opinions on all of this are the exact same.. how about you answer these ******* questions? I just read an article about how AL residents will have something like 7 or 8 selections for Obamacare while the national average is something in the 50s. Turns out with the Democrats in bed so deep with the insurance companies, a lot of things that should be proposed (if you really believe in all this stuff) aren't because half-measures pay off much greater to the insurance companies. The endless hypocrisy of these people is astounding.
LOL Thanks, Sid. I'm still waiting for Dave's response. He's ignored my quite well informed opinion on this subject simply because I was a 'desperate man looking for a job.' I still don't understand how his unemployment was relevant while mine was not. He blamed Bush for losing his job, but there was always some wild tangential connection that only he saw. This administration straight up caused my unemployment and the various ******** spending policies greatly contributed to extending it. From NASA budget slashes to 'green building initiatives to his old style Chicago threats of action, I have never seen anything like this. I'm quite happy to have the job. At the same time, if you realized just how massive the project that I am going to undertake (all while working part-time hours capped at 25) is with only the promise of it working to full-time and a possible promotion in 30 days.. you guys might call me crazy for taking it. I'm telling you guys, I'm lucky to have the opportunity. It seems that, by the day, the number of full time positions are dropping like flies while everyone shifts to part time. I'm just glad I have the shot to work it into full-time. In related news, if anyone knows anything about OSHA feel free to blow my phone up all you want.
Don't have the time to research and address all of your statements Corey. You sure have a ton of inside info gleaned no doubt from unbiased sources. WRT to being unemployed..... I only know WTF was in office for almost 8 years.... and still in office when the economy fell off the effing cliff and I lost my job of 23 years.
Detroit had been going in the shitter since long before W ever took office. Hell, you were in the shitter before Reagan took office. You had a bad case of terminal union cancer that allowed you to live another few decades, but you were a dead man walking. All self-inflicted. I love how you dismiss (again) my plight while clinging to yours. You dismiss my sources (Democrats who voted for Obama twice), who know the game of Federal employment. They know how to survive. The administration doesn't always matter. It's all about survival. You don't have to believe one word I say, you can research all of it independently. The only thing you may need help in making the connection on is the green initiatives. That's because I had a job lined up in CAD design with a metal building company who are absolutely getting clocked by fly-by-night 'green contractors' and construction. Let's not also forget the little shell and pea game that banks played with investments to inflate steel prices, which also caused that job to shut down (literally) the day I got it. There's a cultural economy of fear right now. It's pathetic and our 'leadership' is stirring the pot instead of steadying the helm. If you can't see that, you're not looking.
I don't doubt for one minute that there were those on both sides playing that green game or on the financial side bleeding the situation greedily for every damn dime no matter who got screwed in the process..... which I have been told numerous times on this board is the American Way. I also feel that there is only one side trying to run for police chief of budget cuts by giving 20 years of hard time to the jaywalker. "Hey... is that camera on yet?" RE: Detroit.... I have zero legacy in Detroit.... zero connections.. I made my way there entirely by myself.... with no help from anyone and carved out a pretty damned good living eventually through hard work and salesmanship.
