    expose' type:

The most shocking thing is that Ricky Seals-Jones from just west of here in Houston (Sealy Texas) claims he was offered 600K by a SEC team and an ACC team offered to match it if he'd sign with them. I find it hard to believe myself, but you never know. Oh and he eventually signed with TAMU after decommiting from Texas.

No way you guys could afford 600k for RSJ! :) They'd have to raise your ticket prices again!

If true I would suspect LSU, at the time he was rumored to be looking around the word was that his AAU basketball coach had his hand out and that LSU was eager to fill it with green for RSJ. As far as the ACC team, again if true I would point my finger at either Clemson or FSU.

I could totally see L$U doing that...
With the Cajun mafia on their side, it's hard to get anything done they don't want.

How many shoes did FSU offer????
    :D

Thread hijak...Ralph there was an article in todays paper about some Wasp that the Texas Dept of Agriculture is going to employ against the critter that causes Citrus Greening. I wonder what will control the wasp if it is successful? :)

Hey I'm gonna tell a moderator about hijacking threads... :D

Terry I wish them the best but to be honest I have no faith in this working. I just read yesterday that Florida citrus growers with the FL dept of Ag and the USDA have spent $66 million to date researching ways to eliminate the Asian Citrus psyllid with the State of Florida throwing in an additional $8 million in this year (in the era of no extra money to throw).

And to date we still have the psyllid, matter of fact two hours ago I just ordered $30K of insecticide to start another spray application to battle this insect and do this every thirty days. It is currently the only working option we have.

The wasp have been tried here and have not been very effective. I have personally found that eradicating crop damaging insects is almost impossible biologically or with pesticide. There are just too many unseen factors that negate whatever vector is being used. One advantage that Texas has over Florida is your growers have low populations entrenched in the State and any action taken can be only a good thing.

I am pretty close to some of the researchers working here and it looks like a resistant rootstock is close to being released which will bring a short term answer for citrus surviving in the America's. Currently its spray, spray, spray and nutritional therapy that is bankrupting the industry...There that's my positive news for the evening...

Hey by the way there is a $2 million bounty for anyone who can find the cure to greening...

Nothing is going to rock this sport harder if/when they finally expose the cash tunnel that is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

    Dave,

    Yes.

    Terry,

Then you needed to follow the Cam Newton story a little closer :)

The problem is, that's a scab that was picked in the Newton affair before gingerly being placed back on. The FCA is filled with lots of fine young men and women. There are many great Christians in that organization.

People should find it odd that there are so many disreputable recruiters who are also a part of the FCA. Now, here's the rub. The defense is 'who are we to say? Who are we to judge the sinner? All are welcome in pursuit of God.' But way more than one recruiting violation investigation dropped cold right at the doorstep of the FCA. There's so much cash money flowing in and out of that organization. For those people who can never understand how previously 'clean' coaches wind up with shady assistants, the connection they are missing is the FCA.

I'm not saying it is the FCA itself doing it. I'm saying there are lots of Trooper Taylor type of coaches out there who are using/abusing the FCA as a dark corner where no one will, or can, look. I know I've posted about this before.
