I don't think SEC games in Sept/Oct mean as much nationally anymore since we've seen that you can lose a game in the SEC and still play for all the marbles.

True on that Corey but still... at the time what a helluva game.... and lead-up hype to a game.

The college football blood will be pumping... not to mention the crowd in College Station that day.

    Corey,
I guess you decide which games to watch based on different criteria than I do. I watch Ohio State vs Michigan because it is usually a great college football game, not because it may or may not matter in who gets to play for "all of the marbles". Nebraska vs Oklahoma, Notre Dame vs Michigan State, Georgia vs Florida. Usually all are good college football games. I usually watch 2 or 3 games each Saturday. If that is the deciding factor then the last few years must have been pretty boring in some of the other conferences, huh? 8)

It's still possible for two teams from other conferences to both go unbeaten.... i.e. Ohio State.... plus.... what if Bama lost to A&M and A&M ran the table.... OSU goes unbeaten again.... and the Aggies go 13-0.....
unbelievably the three time champ would be left out of the BCS Final.
So.... you can't take for granted that losing a game in September won't kill your NC chances..... but I agree that an SEC team losing in Sept. has a damned good chance of overcoming that one loss.

Otherwise... as Kp says it's just great CFB theatre to watch top notch games in any conference on a Saturday. In this case.... with the Aggies having won last yeat year and possessing the returning Heisman winner plus that rabid crowd..... it's a recipe for some pretty intense football.

You guys misunderstand. I'll watch it. However, you can only go so long before everyone figures out that a loss doesn't mean much anymore and the 'impact' of the game suffers..

Sounds like you could be talking about the new 4 team format that begins in 2014.

    Corey,
It's a game. I watch it because it's a drama and I don't know how it will end. It involves skill, emotions, drama. That's it. If I think too much about how what happens in September will affect what will happen in December, I might as well be at work. When Alabama squares off against Texas A&M in the middle of September, I'm hoping for a great college football game. That's it. Well except for the fact that I want Alabama to win. :D
