    today joco and I were out at mission hills country club in rancho mirage for my dads birthday... they fricken closed the road (Bob Hope Drive) 1 block north of the golf course and why you asked His Highness the president was 2 blocks up at a private residence that is well off the road and behind gates and brick walls. They never closed the roads when Reagan, Ford, Bush or Nixon were there. in fact you could see the Fords at the grocery stores w. secret service of course. First they close the 405 at rush hour both directions so he could leave from laX and now they close the main road going into Palm Springs. what a jackass and No Jim didn't let me take posters to hang out the car windows. of course out there it is mostly Republican. but there are unlimited golf courses. but where he was staying they have their own private course. But it was 110 out there today a little warm for golf.
About ten days ago he was here in our area on his second "Bromance" tour with Chris Christie. They closed most of the major north/south roads and highways near the shore and the local airport across the street from my office on a Monday morning during the morning commute. Fortnately for all of us, Christie won Obama a stuffed teddy bear on a boardwalk game.
 Yep George he was at the Annenburg estate which is just south of my dads.. Bob Hope Drive is one of the few major roads leading into town and Palm Springs. and when it is 110 you really don't want to be driving 6 or 7 miles out of your way. The estate has big block walls camera's everywhere. there was no reason to close the road. except for his anxiety about something happening to him.. also there was a no fly over Palm Springs area either all weekend Friday thru Sunday and the airport in Palm Springs was closed for weekend. good thing it is off season. according to my dad they went out to eat this am and had to drive around to get to the resturants they wanted to go to... they will all be glad when he leaves. Dad said he stayed to play a round of golf the estate has their own 18 hole golf course. :?
Love that area. La Quinta is one of my favorite resorts. PGA West and a number of other good courses. Love to go over to Dessert Hot Springs and play Dessert Dunes. Stayed at the Marriott Desert Springs Hotel a number of times. Place is nice but thier courses are just OK. Last time there ate at a place called Shame on the Moon. Nice place.
:? we never go over to desert hot springs... My Dad lives on the 3rd hole on the mens course at Mission Hills(the east course) now they have a Huge Hotel and pool right across the course from him..... its really beautiful... when we are outside we can hear the music from the pool area. you should check it out sometime.. then we can meet you out there...
