USGA makes it offical...

    Anchored Putting will be illegal starting in 2016. Glad I never adopted that style! :)

    Next up is what will the PGA do now? They advised the USGA that they favored retaining the anchored putters. If the PGA decides to do that it will be a problem for guys who continue to putt like that and have to change their style to play in the British Open and the US Open.

    I have to assume all the HS tours, the AJGA and Future Collegians tour, etc will fall in line too many of those kids want to play in USGA amateur events.

    Years ago, Arnie decided to try a long putter. Chi Chi saw him and said to him, "Hey, if you're going to miss putts, miss like a man." Apparently Arnold went back to missing with his old putter.
