    re: ND players

I was surprised that Cave didn't get picked up on the last round. I saw some NFL teams last year that were desperate for centers. The others weren't draftable...

    re: NFL teams

Does anyone understand what the Buffalo Bills were doing? I don't. Robert Woods in round 2 is a good pick, but the rest make no sense at all. Unless I totally missed the boat, E.J. Manuel is the biggest non drafted as a #1 since JaMarcus Russell. I honestly didn't think that anyone would draft them on any round...and then they go #1. Maybe Robert Woods can throw the ball to himself...

So..... UF plays in the SEC and it's annual non-con opponent FSU had 11 of the 30 ACC draftees.

That's a lot of NFL talent on the schedule.

There's also a lot of bad football in the ACC last year.

Interesting.. I remember years ago making the point about P12 (then Pac10) NFL talent/draft pics etc.. and the consensus here being that it didn't matter that they were #1.

Now they aren't #1, but it could be argued they are much more relevant in the BCS/football playoff, and you guys are saying that draft picks are everything? That doesn't make sense, but whatever.

The thing about having lots of NFL draft picks is that you have a much greater chance of having NFL busts. It's a nice problem to have though. I think even if the SEC wasn't winning every BCS title, they'd still be in the top 2 of NFL producing conferences. Now they've expanded, it'll be even more solidified in that position.

I certainly know my team well. The Jets cut Tebow at a workout this morning.

The way they treated him was reprehensible. So we still have the club footed, weak armed Sanchez to unload.

Well draft picks aren't everything, but when one conference as doubled the #2 conference that isn't nothing.

So many of the top kids who come to play college football are solely interested in being prepared for the NFL. Right now that 63 is a powerful recruiting tool for all the SEC teams. Now for the most part SEC teams are composed of mainly kids from the SEC area, so it's not like I expect the SEC to start pulling top kids from the West Coast in bundles, but it's going to be harder for Teams like ND, Mich, Ohio State, ACC, to go to Dixie and pull kids north when the numbers say they'd be better of NFL wise playing in the SEC.

Ah...posted a topic on this before I saw these posts.

The way the Jets treated Tebow you would think that Ryan is the anti-Christ.

John Goodman signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent. As much as I like my homey Goodman, I'd be surprised if he makes the roster.

Goodman is a head scratcher to me. He's a kid who is tall, has very good speed and based on the couple of very big catches he made this past year...that one in the endzone at MSU and there was another one, vs Wake Forrest I think where he was interfered with in the endzone but held on...has some good skills.

Why he wasn't a consistent WR at ND I have no idea, maybe he lacks the commitment to practice and stuff and that held him back.

Another guy who is puzzling is the Tenn QB, Tyler Bray, who left Tenn early to enter into the draft. But was not drafted? Who was informing him that he was going to be drafted? I wonder what the NFL didn't like about him?

    I love this
Of course, another year of college, working on a degree isn't even worth discussing in Football down South.
