The supposed best team in the league, the Mets, is literally limping towards the playoff. Pedro got rocked last night, the Mets have lost 7 out of the last 8. The Cardinals have lost 7 out of their last 8. The Dodgers according to JO'Co have no pitching and are too Young, I don't know what to think about the Phillies, the Padres don't scare anybody. Only the Astros are doing anything, we've won 7 in a row and are hot as firecrackers. Of course we have little room for error. I don't think we can lose a game and catch St. Louis, even if they continue to lose.

We'll be worn out and worn down by the time one of the teams emerges for the WS.

Terry, it's baseball. Once the curtain goes up on the playoffs, anything goes. I recall several years ago when Seattle had a lights out number of wins during the regular season, and they did not get past the first round. Who thought the Marlins would even make to the WS a few years ago, much less win the whole thing?

The Stros just won their 9th in-a-row and are a half game back of St. Louis...

The Game changes in the playoffs. Both the Dodgers and Stros become much more formidable when using just a three-man pitching rotation...especially the Stros...

Furthermore... while the Dodgers are very young in spots, they are also incredibly talented. It remains to be seen how these kids will do under the glare of prime time, do or die, pressure situations. I suspect that some of them, like Russell Martin will do very well indeed. We'll see...

The news about Pedro sure puts a different light on the playoffs.

I don't understand the Astros and why it always takes them so long to get untracked. They have perhaps the best pitching and I don't see their batting as weak so why always having to make a late rush?

And they are sure cutting this one tight.
