Last time we plyed the Hawkeyes at night was not very pleasant, losing 33-7.

I am anticipating a pretty tough game with Drew Tate & Company Saturday evening. (ABC)

Our young defense is performing better every game. With Troy Smith and some top receivers, we do have the ability to play catch up, if we should fall behind.

    Should be an interesting game.

Game of the Week no doubt. Iowa didn't look all that great against Iowa State or Illinois if you ask me though. Do they have a RB who could hurt the Bucks, that looks to me like a must if you are going to beat OSU, as you seem to be vulnerable there. Drew Tate being a good QB and a veteran could give you some problems.

    Terry,

Both teams are pretty even on rushing stats. Game will probably be won by the passing game.

Home field advantage to the Hawkeyes. We will need some turnovers to offset the home crowd.

I can not remember my Buckeyes playing two night games in one season.

Buckeye Terry may have more info on that when he arrives back home.

Remember what I said last week, Terry...

If you take MSU or Iowa lightly, you do so at your own peril.

I can't be so sure that Iowa will put up a fight. Isn't this the same Iowa team that was taken into Double overtime by Syracuse..Buckeyes Cruise

    TheSwampSince 82,

Yes, however Drew Tate was injured early in the game and did not play.

He is healthy now and Iowa is a dangerous team, especially at home with some very rabid and noisy fans.

    Terry,

I don't care how kind and gentle they make us (as you know I was very impressed by the Texas fans)...

As long as they do nothing to inhibit the bomb-sniffing dogs when Bobda's Weasles arrive!

Don, it hasn't happened very often, but we did have two just last year....Texas and Penn State. You know the result. That place is going to be rockin', those Hawkeye kids are going to be fired up and I'm looking for perhaps our toughest test of the year. Give me a 1 point win right now and I'd be happy as can be....it's a big,big game.

    Buckeye Terry,

Gracious how short my memory is now days! Forgot all about the Texas night game last year. (Wonder why?)

Per some stats from an unknown site to me, Iowa has never beaten the #1 team on nine prior trys!

Lets hope they do not break their record Saturday night.

I don't know if you guys will agree with me on this but if John Cooper were the coach of this team you'd lay 50 on Iowa. But Tressel is by nature a conservative coach, not that he can't or won't score 50, but it's a big road game and you know he's going to play it close to the vest, esp if your defense gets off to a good start. Of course if Cooper were coach you'd know for sure that Meechigan would beat you to end the season also! :)

    TOK,

I don't think you're giving Iowa anywhere near enough credit....either the team, the coach or the venue. Herbstreit is on record as saying Austin was like a "wine and cheese party" compared to what faces them in Iowa City. Iowa has solid personnel, a excellent veteran QB - all Big 10 as a soph and what many believe to be the best coach in the conference. They've lost what???? one game in Iowa City in 6 years or so?! And we're gonna waltz in and hang 50 on 'em.....that's crazy. I'd take 7-3 right now and get our of Iowa City a very happy man.

I know what Ohio State did to Texas. I know what Texas did to Iowa State. I know that Iowa struggled to beat Iowa State, I know Iowa had to go to OT against a bad Syracuse team, I know Iowa struggled with a Illinois team that RUTGERS destroyed.

Your fears of Iowa are unfounded!

Of course, mind you that on the basis of that logic Chadron State dominates Geogia.....hmmmmm. If only it were so easy.

In fairness, Tate missed or was injured in several of those ballgames. My gut tells me that this will be a different Iowa team, but I'd love to see your prediction play out. Iowa is ALWAYS a tough customor in Kinnick.

I guess you could say I'm from the "Lou Holtz school of thought" All the teams on the Bucks schedule scare the hell out of me.....some more then others and Iowa is one of the "somes".

I told you the Buckeyes would beat Penn State by at least 20. Was I correct?

    Good.

Ohio State will beat Iowa by at least 12.
