The Alabama Athletic Director/Player/Coach died today. Over 40 years of contributions to the University of Alabama excellence should be acknowledged. He played for and coached with Coach Bryant. He brought in Coach Stallings and Coach Saban and orchestrated tremendous improvements in the athletic department. A sad day in the University of Alabama community. :(

Thanks Bill, Mal Moore has been an Alabama staple for a long time and has been key to the Tide Nation's tradition.

He certainly found outstanding coaches. Sad loss for Tide Nation.

Very sad loss for the people and the University of Alabama. He was a great player, and a great AD. The good ones die too soon.

Great man and a great administrator. His balance and patience will be missed in my opinion. Any man whose only ND experience was as a member of Gerry Faust's staff, and still only has good things to say about the university, is a well balanced individual. He faced some real hard times at Alabama and his unflinching courage led them to greener pastures.
