Former Vol Coach the new Alabama AD.

    Mal Moore resigned sort of suddenly due to health problems and they have quite quickly replaced him with Bill Battle a former HC at Tenn and an Alabama Alum.

    New Alabama AD

    It's great they had somebody right there that they felt was the next man up. I'm just more used to executive search firms, board meetings, intrigue, etc when an AD is hired.

    Bill Battle was (maybe still is) a heck of a good man. Head coach... he was not. The Tennessee Football program was decimated by the time he was asked to leave. For Bama's sake, i hope he is a better AD than he was a coach.

    Yeah, I don't think the Wiz was ready to leave the NFL.

    Bill,
    Battle was pretty young when Tennessee hired him. I think he was above .600 in wins there. Never had a losing season???
