just for a second, when I saw the LSU/Harlem Shake video, I thought Les was stroking out on us. As for the Michigan State fans, I laughed. I'd much rather see that than a Beeee-Onnneee-Geeee chant. No offense to my SEC pals, here.
You will be able to distinguish the real South Dakota fans from the Sparty fans in disguise since the Sparties will be wearing San Diego State gear
Last night Houston finished off Texas in the something or other tournament. It was a fitting end to a lousy season. The sad thing is that for what ever reason Rick Barnes is seemingly close to the end of his tenure at Texas. He'll be back next season, but he's got no recruiting mojo anymore, the top players in Texas all headed to Kentucky. There is no Lamarcus Aldridge, no TJ Ford and certainly no Kevin Durant on the horizon for the Longhorns. I am so surprised that his career is tailing off so badly now, he's still relatively young, he has great facilities, Texas is still a great place to go for social life and stuff that young athletes seem to value. There was a time that I'm sure most figured he would eventually win a NCAA championship and that he was one of the elite coaches. Texas High Schools used to look at basketball as something between football and spring football....now Texas HS basketball is very good and a lot of excellent players are produced in the state. So it should be getting easier for him to build excellent teams. But many fans would be happy if he was fired in the next few weeks but he'll probably make it another year.
ND/Ohio State seems in vogue now. We beat you guys in Lacrosse yesterday, we have a Hockey match in the CCHA tournament Friday at Joe Louis Center and it's possible we could play you in basketball this weekend as well.
Louisville, Ohio State, The Gators and Indiana are my Final Four. If the first three are true and Miami beats Indiana then it would be Gators vs Canes for a spot in the finals. Gators all the way.
The 8-9 and 7-10 match-ups always are up for grabs. I also lost on Pitt, but I don't "hate" them. I just deeply resent their lack of ability to win the game. Now, if Marquette doesn't start cranking it up vs. Davidson, I may become even more deeply resentful.
Ohio State's smashing victory over Iona had to be one of our more entertaining wins this year. Aaron Craft, six steals, Charlie Scott 10 assists and Sam Thompson making some great dunks, sent Iona home early.
Don, upsets galore.....survive and advance is all that matters, unlike the college football variety, style points are worth nothing on your way to this title. I think we're playing as well as anybody. Looks like Matta has the kids focused and we have extraordinary leadership in Craft. What a performance by Thompson....he is finding his game at the perfect time. Iowa St looked sharp against the Irish, they can easily pull off the upset if our kids don't stay focused.....
