Purdue gives Michigan a scare last night but rallies to win. Something has to give tonight between MSU and Wisconsin. Indiana will travel to Michigan Sunday. Ohio State has to play Illinois in Columbus. The conference race is far from over.

    Tim & Sid,

Congratulations! Michigan had that game wrapped up but missed three straight , critical foul shot attempts in the last 90 seconds.

    GO HOOSIERS!

    THEY EARNED IT.

They won 5 of 6 games from the 3 teams tied for second.

Rooting for M is bad karma....a recipe for disaster resulted in a complete collapse at the end and a layup that rimmed out at the buzzer. Ugh...

IU's first outright title in 20 years.....heard but have not seen about a scrap between coaches at games end?

Good for Crean! Another reason to be glad he's on our side.

Interesting. It's not like this is the first time Meyer and Crean have crossed paths since Crean was a IU. I wonder why he chose now to go off on him?

Timing is everything. It would seem to me that after you've risen from the depths and climbed the mountain, getting in the face of one who helped send you to the depths is excellent timing.

Sorry Sid, can't go there with ya.....seems like a pretty bush league move to me. I think most would prefer a more gracious winner.

Terry, you can stick your opinion up your scarlet and gray backside. It's not like you have an agenda. Can you say, sour grapes?

Gip, I didn't know you had a dog in this fight, but thank you for your unsolicited opinion.

IU folks are saying that Meyer told Crean to F off when he shook his hand and that's what set Crean off.

Crean can coach for sure, but I never liked him when he was at Marquette and still don't like him.

    Crean's apology:

    http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9039583/tom-crean-indiana-hoosiers-apologizes-michigan-wolverines-jeff-meyer-heated-exchange

It seems that Crean's outburst was misdirected as Meyer was never sanctioned by the NCAA for any major violations. If he wanted to vent, the appropriate target would be Kelvin Sampson who was the Al Capone of that operation. But, why even vent? If it were not for Sampson, Crean would not have had the opportunity to coach at Indiana which is one of the best college basketball jobs in the country. He knew what a mess he was walking into when he left a quality job at Marquette to coach the Hoosiers.

Also, when Knight was coaching at Indiana and running a clean and great program, it was not uncommon for him to hire an assistant who had past problems with the NCAA. Norm Ellenberger was on his staff for years after the NCAA hammered him for violations while he was coaching New Mexico.
