One of the best groups of recruits in a very long time at ND and what is more important is that down the stretch we added to the class with top talent like Greg Bryant, Folston and now Eddie V.

    Good job Kelly and staff!

<t>And to think I almost believed them when they use to say ND can't get those elite defensive line players to come to SB! Right.LOL[/quote]</t>

You BB team has just taken Louisville into OT and it's still tied 66-66.

I have never in my life seen a 5 overtime game, but here we are Louisville and Notre Dame 93-93 heading into the 5th OT. I want to go to bed but can't turn this game off.

This is a wild one for sure. I can not remember this many over times as well.

Notre Dame 104 Louisville 101 in 5 OT's. I think 4 players on each side fouled out. A couple of more OT's and we may have had teams playing short handed.

    Congratulations.

Great win for Notre Dame. 66 fouls called and eight players sidelined. I will have to check the record book on this one.

    Answer to my question:

    The NCAA record book (NCAA.org) lists a 7 OT game from 1981 (so pre-shot clock)... Cinncinnati (75) v. Bradley (73). [Division I]
The longest modern-era NCAA game was on 3/12/09-3/13/09 with 6 OTs. Syracuse vs. Uconn (127-117)

What are you guys doing up watching a ND game this late!! :)

Wild game, you could see that both teams were gassed, except for that one Louisville kid who was money they had hard time getting their free throw's to the front of the rim.

ND had no more players at the end of the game, if it had gone to 6 OT's those 5 were going to have to play on...I believe Louisville was in the same situation. I wonder what happens when you don't have 5 players anymore to put on the court, play a man short?

Much needed win for the Irish!

Hey Bill does the SEC still fine you if your crowd rushes the court after a win?

    Terry,

I just happened to check the game scores before going to bed and got hooked real quick.

Terry, don't know for sure about whether the SEC still has a fine for rushing the court. I know that the Gators don't allow it.

But then there are times that what is allowed and what happens can be different.

I did do an internet search and didn't come up with an answer. As late as 2010 South Carolina was fined for fans rushing the court after an upset of Kentucky.

Haha! I was so disgusted with the ugliness of our loss that I turned off the TV with a little more than a minute to go in regulation and retired to the computer before heading to bed. At 11:15, I posted my disappointment and my prediction that we will not make the NCAA tournament (since deleted, of course  ). I wrote a quick email to my son with the same thoughts. A few minutes later, he wrote back to say that we were going into overtime. I was shocked but turned the TV back on and watched the rest of the game.

    Unbelievable!

Sid I did the same thing, except when it got under 2 minutes, I started watching a program I had recored (latest episode of Person of Interest) and when I was through and went back to live TV the game was still on...I went WTF is going on, it was at the last of the 3rd OT so I watched the 4th and 5th OT! :)

Let's not forget that the Irish Women's Basketball won again, at Seton Hall. I'm guessing with the weather they might still be there! :)
