The guy who wrote that piece is not even a sports writer. He offers his opinion on all sorts of stuff. Here's one of his opinions on Hilary http://www.aspendailynews.com/section/columnist/156539
Regular season perhaps.....playoffs? There is a question. And as the writer suggests going forward the Broncos have eschewed development of Tebow....of a young player who could bring possible rewards down the road.....for a player who needs to do it now.....only he didn't. You won't find many if any Denver fans who are satisfied with his performance vs. the Ravens in that loss.
Maybe the Patriots should trade for Tebow, they can't be happy with the performance of Tom Brady in the playoffs.
.....And as every other GM in the league is suggesting, there are superior options for investment in and development of than Tebow. I expect that John Elway knows a thing or two about both playing QB and winning in the NFL. This entire line of questioning on your part is absurd..... He is an extraordinary young man who will succeed in most any walk of life that he chooses......just not the NFL.
Tebow won't be the first nor the last NFL QB who has a few good games, well liked by teammates but who in the opinion of NFL QB gurus has very little upside that warrants extended efforts to develop him for the future. There is always a need for NFL QB's who win, and if somebody thinks that is him he will be playing next year someplace.
Well, I'm not the guy with the bat... too thin and not my defensive weapon of choice! 8) Purple shirt has less hair so that could be me especially since his right arm is hidden from view concealing his defensive weapon of choice. The guy with the bat must be Terry. When he runs out of happy gas, the bat is used to put his patient under. That leaves the guy in the middle for Bill, the math professor... need I say more? However, the horse is pointed in the wrong direction to be Dave. This picture assumes that he is a horses "head". Sorry, got on a roll.
As the writer says.....it took Elway 15 years in the league to win a Super Bowl. Good thing someone had patience.
It took Elway 4 seasons to get to the Super Bowl and he was the first QB to be in 5 SBs. Only Brady has been in that many.
That you would attempt to compare Elway as a young QB to Tebow as a young QB shows how much you are in the tank for Tebow.
 Beyond ridiculous.....had Denver been foolish enough release Elway at any point early in his career, how many teams do you think would have, 1) bid for his services and, 2) forced him to sit behind an incumbent as unproductive as Mark Sanchez? Trick question....answers: 1 - All of them 2 - none of them
Elway vs. Tebow: Elway first season - 9-7 record comp 214 of 380 18 TDs 15 ints 237 yds rushing 1 TD Tebow first ( and only ) 16 games as a starter with Denver: 9-7 record comp 186 of 400 19 TDs 9 ints 950 yards rushing 12 TDs Now please....anyone with a reasonable unbiased opinion can review the above comparison of the two certainly you can determine which one of the two was far and away more productive for the Broncos than the other. The 19 Tds to 9 ints are one thing vs. Elway's 18/15 ratio but the rushing stats also do not include the many many critical first downs that Tebow rushed for keeping drives alive. Before you comment please read and comprehend the stat comparison. It's a mystery when you look at it why people are so ani-Tebow. The NFL is about production and winning football games.... or so I thought.
Yeah you know what they say about stats... There is no way you can compare the upside and potential to a young John Elway to Tim Tebow..but keep trying.
Just pointing out that at the same stage of their careers Tebow was clearly more productive on the field than was Elway and yet.....Elway got his chance while Tebow was sent by Elway to NFL hell with the Jets......and now seems lost in purgatory because of perception....certainly not because of production.
In case you missed it Terry: Elway vs. Tebow: Elway first season - 9-7 record comp 214 of 380 18 TDs 15 ints 237 yds rushing 1 TD Tebow first ( and only ) 16 games as a starter with Denver: 9-7 record comp 186 of 400 19 TDs 9 ints 950 yards rushing 12 TDs Yes.....I am comparing the two....on the field....where it counts. Not in summer camp.
