Florida came out looking like they would put Kentucky in the grave early. Kentucky would have nothing to do with that. Kentucky is now threatening with 3 minutes left in the first half. 1st and goal from the Florida 8 yard line.

Kentucky does what Florida could not. They cap their TD with the extra point. Kentucky tops Florida 7 to 6 but there is 1:59 left in the half... plenty of time for Florida to score before the half.

Looks like Florida has hammered in the last nail needed on the Kentucky coffin.

MCG, I apologize. When GaterzFan didn’t show up, I should have fired up the “We’re gonna get screwed” song. 8) Sorry… couldn’t resist.

    Congrats to Florida in advance.

Florida up 26 to 7 with only 7 minutes to play.

The Gator defense must have seen the light at halftime. Kentucky couldn't move the ball the 2nd half and the Gators moved up and down the field pretty much at will but made some mistakes or the score could have been higher.

But we had over 200 yards rushing which is good news.

Well I need to get some sleep tonight as morning will come quickly and it's a big day in the Gator Bill family as our next to youngest child, a daughter, is celebrating her 40th birthday.

Come next year our youngest son turns 40 and none of our kids will all be 40 or over. That's kind of scary as I remember when I thought 40 was pretty old, now our babies are that age.

But as I've always said it beats the alternative.

    Fellows,

Once the actual conference races begin, things begin to tighten up a bit don't they?

Hey Kentucky is very evidently a better team than they have been.
Their Qb Woodson is a tall and talented player and they have good receivers.

They were missing one of the best all around players in the SEC in Rafael Little. I get anxious, sweaty palms thinking what might have happened if that guy had played last night.

In any event UF did what was neccessary and so far that seems to be a trademark of this team. However, for the next 4 games just doing "what is necessary" could put the Gators in holes they can't climb out of.

I would be ecstatic if UF goes 3-1 in these 4 games vs. Bama, LSU, Auburn and Ga and I would not be surprised to see 2-2.

If UF loses 2 one had better not be to Ga. I can see UF winning the SEC East with 2 conference losses this year.

MotorCity...Kentucky is a really bad team, that you guys didn't blow them out isn't an indication that they are anything other than a bad team, they were thoroughly whipped by Louisville the only other decent team they've faced other than the gators. Only a weak remaining schedule will allow them to mabye get to .500 as UCF, Miss State, and Vandy are maybe worse than they are.

Are you at all disappointed that Louisvilles offense could've named the score against the 'Cats but you guys could only score 26 points? I'm still not convinced that the Meyer offense will really work well in the SEC. But I must say I love that Gator defense, you guys do have a fast and tough defense.

I think Kentucky is definitely better than they were last year on both sides of the ball.

That said...with just a little more execution on offense by Florida the score easily could have been and should have been 33-7 or 40-7.
