This one deserves it's own topic. WOW.... what a game! One of the best bowl games I have ever seen. Michigan proves once again that it is the toughest out for the Big 10 vs. the SEC of any Big Ten member. Gritty.... tough as nails performance by both teams and Spurrier was about as happy over a win as I have seen him.
What a hard hitting game! Clowney not only knocks the ball loose, he knocks the ball carrier's helmet off at the same time. It came down to a missed sack and great balance by the SC QB. I give the Skunks a lot of credit for a great effort. I also enjoy THEM seeing how shitty it is to lose in the final seconds.
I don't recall seeing a helmet come off and go so far and with such velocity after a hit. Clowney is a scary monster.
two things: 1. You can just call Northwestern Daddy because they wrapped up the year with a 2-0 record vs SEC bowl teams. 2. Clowney was absolutely dominated and put on skates ALL DAY by Michigan's LT. (I honestly don't know his name). I do know the NFL guys were all excited about this matchup because it was a straight up head to head of future draft picks. Clowney was silent almost all game. On the big play, Michigan blew their zone blocking scheme and left SCARs best player unblocked. Hats off to the young man, he did was great players do when no one blocks you. That being said, and even though it was a great impact play on the game, if you grade this thing out NFL style... Clowney got clowned. As good as he is, and he is incredibly gifted, he's still got some work to do.
For the Big Ten.... it's Michigan that has the best body of work by far vs. the SEC...... the ass beatin this year by Bama excepted. MSU was the SEC's weak bowl link this year so a win by NW is not surprising.
Miss State WAS FAVORED! You dropped a bunch of points on them. Admit your wrong and hold onto some level of integrity... Although your fluid ******** levels are almost admirable.
I told mu son yesterday morning that I thought MSU was going down..... for what it's worth. I didn't pay close enough attention to their swoon at the end of the season.
Picks can be changed up to the start time of the game. This game started at 13:00 your time so if you were sure that NSU was going to lose, you had options. If you did not want to change any of the points you had wagered for the other 1-Jan games, by my calculations, you still have 4, 7, 21, 26, 28, and 35 points available. You could have: 1) Lowered your points on Mississippi State to either 4 or 7. 2) Lowered to points to 4 or 7 and pick Northwestern 3) Kept the points at 22 and picked Northwestern 4) Raised the points to 26, 28, or 35 and picked Northwestern.
Didn't fret about it that hard and didn't know we could change em after submission anyway. Bottom line is that heading in to yesterday I had the least confidence in MSU winning wrt the SEC>..... cause they have sucked in the second half of the season.
8) So far, the SEC has been dominated by the ACC, The Big East (which is going out of business) and Northwestern, which hadn't won a bowl game since before I was born...
I don't know anyone claiming that the winner of the Pac12/B1G should automatically be in the title game..nor do I see anyone claiming that a 1 loss team from those conferences should be in the title game over an undefeated team. We hear that about the SEC though. We hear the defenses are so much better and the talent so deep (top to bottom) that others can't compete with you. At this moment, Vanderbilt's holding of NC State to 24 points is your conferences best defensive effort...everyone else has given up more. I honestly expect to see an all-world, bone crushing defense from Alabama.. but that's got a lot more to do with Alabama than it does this "SEC over all" nonsense.. Oh, and the Pac12 is 3-4 coming into tonight's game.. just so you don't say anyone is dodging your idiotic point.
