But it may make recruiting a top QB prospect a little easier.

I think it will make things easier. Check out what Jim Mora did in one year at UCLA. He cleaned out everything and cleared out anyone who wasn't onboard. Just this week, he publicly warned his three starting frosh on the Oline that they may lose their jobs to three incoming recruits who're more highly touted than they were. All the pressure is on the players...not the coach.

IMHO this is exactly what Tennessee needs.
    :!:

Well this year is pretty much done as far as top QB's are concerned, but will certainly create opportunity for 2014 recruiting.

This is exactly the situation Kelly found himself in at ND when he arrived. Jimmy Clausen decided to go Pro (he did get his degree though) and left Kelly with an oft injured Dayne Crist who couldn't practice in the Spring and Tommy Rees and walkons. He had 2 other QB's coming in the fall but not early entry like Rees. So he's been severely hampered by the QB position. So unless he's got a kid on the roster who is ready to step up it'll be an issue for you guys. But even with our QB play we were able to win 8 games in both his first 2 years.

Might be year 3 before you can see what he can do, that is as I said unless you find a Johnny Football waiting on the sidelines for the right coach. :)

    I agree I don't think he's ready. But I wish him luck.

The kid has a lot of tools but the head isn't one of them. He's a guy I think will need to be groomed for a few years and I'm not sure he's been exposed to proper leadership yet..

As you said, I wish him luck.

    All,

I can't blame him for leaving. Learning yet another offensive system and this time no top receivers in the stable. This kid has not been given the chance to get his head on straight. Another bad season in college will have him dropping out of the NFL all together.

Go Tyler... learn a new offensive system on a team that may not change on you every year. take a back-up roll and ready yourself to shine when yout time in the spotlight comes. Settle in and show them what you can do. Go... and good luck!!!
